John, that's a great idea, a shuttle bus.  Do you have a CDL license?  Could be some good tips, us girls are big tippers!

I'm so excited about the July Luncheon! The date gives me plenty of time to prepare my popular "Swedish Meatballs" dish. You know, little meatballs with blonde hair on 'em (my own special touch). Will there be valet parking? Or maybe a shuttle bus from Snider Plaza?

Place: Girl's Luncheon

This isn't the best of timing, but after I hung up talking with Ann DelRegno, Charles called me with the bad news about Larry Thomas passing away yesterday.  I had to take some time away in order to come back and post this info.

The Girl's Luncheon will not be at a restaurant, instead it will be at Ann DelRegno Hoose home! She called and volunteered to host the luncheon at her home which is in the SMU area.  Here are the details.

You are cordially invited to the home of Ann Hoose for a Girl's lunch. It will be on Saturday, 7-20, at 11:30.  Ann will provide some appetizers, plates, silverware, tea and a salad. She suggested that when you attend you bring one dish to share. With all the fresh vegetable and fruit in season, the possibilities are endless.  Also, if you have a favorite wine or other drink, feel free to bring it, there's no "corking fee" at Ann's house! [wink] This will be so much fun as we can all mill around and visit rather than being confined to a table in a restaurant!  Thank you Ann!

Her address is: 3519 McFarlin Blvd. Dallas, 75205  Em: annhoose@swbell.net  or Em: sandylynn754@gmail.com
Please reply to Ann or me that you are coming so the host will know how many to expect.

So sad and sorry to hear about Larry. He was always such a nice guy. He looked so good at the last mini. Go to show, we don't know what tomorrow will bring. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Incredibly tragic. Great words of wisdom, Sandi: we are not supermen and are especially vulnerable in this heat. RIP Larry.

Place: Passing of Larry Thomas

Comments:
It's with such sadness that I was just told by Charles Moss that Larry Thomas passed away yesterday, 6-24-24.  He was at our May 4th Mini and I spent a long time talking with him. Larry's older brother, Bill, called Charles this morning to let him know.  Charles lived close to them growing up in Oak Cliff and was a family friend.

He will be cremated and a Memorial will be announced later. I will try to make a long sad story short.

When the storm came thru early on 5-28, like so many, they lost limbs and had debris everywhere.  Larry got out there and worked really hard by himself clearing it out and cleaning it up.  He got dehydrated. Then their son & DIL were moving in with them because Larry's wife has Alzheimer's.  Larry was helping carry boxes upstairs and got very weak. Next day son took him tho Medical City. He then had a stroke and one side paralyzed. Moved him to rehab but not doing good, moved to care center and another stoke and other side paralyzed. Back to hospital but now brain dead.

This is a very sad ending to someone who was vital and fine 5 weeks ago. Please, realize we aren't Superman anymore and the high heat, humidity and working too much can kill us. Prayers for his family as they make plans to say goodbye to their brother, father and husband. Now the son and DIL will have to take care of their mom, Susan, without their dad.

Place: Girl's Luncheon Update!

Comments:
Yes, we will be having our Girl's July Luncheon on Saturday, 7-20-24, 11:30 at the Southern Recipe.  That's the same place as last year's luncheon and where many of us have met for breakfast.  Loc: 621 W. Plano Pkwy. #229, Plano TX 75075

Please mark your calendars and make plans to attend.  We had a good crowd last year and it was so much fun visiting with those we hadn't seen in a long time. This is also posted on our Events page!

"We're going to have a Girl's Luncheon on Saturday, July 20th, so start making plans to attend!  We had a great turn-out last July so hope to see all of you again . . . plus more!  Will probably be at the Southern Recipe like last year, but will give all the details later."

Right now, mark your calendar for Saturday, July 20th, at 11:30am.  Let's eat, drink and have some fun!

while I know this is going to be a shock - I will probably be there.  We have spent today detailing the inside of the coach.  They are coming to wash and wax it tomorrow and we show it on Friday.  Keep your fingers crossed that they want it.  Shoot, the way it looks right now I want it!  Leave for home in McKinney Saturday morning.
