Sandy, thank you for the anniversary wishes! To be honest, we were so busy getting relocated that I totally forgot it was our anniversary! We did take time to stop unpacking and tried out a nearby restaurant near the Texas-Oklahoma border. I was skeptical at first but it was really good. We continue to get settled in as Bruce finishes up a new master closet! Living in the country is quite serene. I think I like it!! So very sorry to hear about Larry Thomas and J D Garoutte. Ann, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make the luncheon. I saw the pictures and it looked as though everyone was well fed and enjoyed each other’s company. Sandy, here’s hoping you are able to keep up with your new phone!

I only met JD Garoutte a couple of times at your "mini" events and he seemed like a man with a big personality. His funeral service was July 19th in Wisconsin and included military honors at the end. Below is a link posted from the live stream video of the service, for those of you who might want to view it.

I finally decided on a new pho.  Ordered it this morning.  When I get it, activate it and figure out how to use it [rolleyes]  . . . I'll let you know I'm back in business!

Had a really great time yesterday with the 9 other classmates for a luncheon at Ann's house. Then, on the way home and two stops to drop off two friends, somehow I lost my cell phone.  Don't know how or where but when I got home it was gone. I called the number & it went straight to VM. Whoever picked it up at where ever it dropped out has turned it off so it can't be tracked.

Please don't call or text me on my cell as it is GONE!  You can still reach me at my home # or email.  I'm so distraught I couldn't sleep last night. It went from a great day filled with joy & laughter with classmates from days gone by to a stolen cell and worry beyond belief.

Hi Classmate,
Randall and I are traveling and we were sad to learn of the “graduations” of our two classmates Larry and JD. Both were nice guys. Our condolences and prayers for each family.

RIP Larry, you were a really nice guy and I enjoyed our last conversation so much. Didn't know it would be our last.

So sad to hear about JD. Hate that the had been sick for long time. He was a unique person. I think I first met him in Sunday school class at Lancaster Ave. Methodist church in the 50's. Prayers for his family.
Rest in Peace old friend, you did a lot of good, now your journey is over.

Paul, how did y'all fare with all the storms that were coming out of OKC?  Hopefully still in tact! Hope you and Kathy are doing OK.  Down here we're all hanging in there. [crazy]

Here in Dallas & Richardson we got some much needed rain on Monday that held temps to the upper 70s to low 80s.  It was great, but that's over.  Right back to sun & heat.  By end of week it will be upper 90s and for the All Star Games next week it's 99 to 100 each day. Our SOC friends in and around Houston have checked in and they are OK. Most without electricity but it's slowly coming back on.

No, not yet James.  But, Charles Moss grew up on same street and was friends with the family.  Larry's older brother is the one who called Charles about Larry's death.  He said Larry would be cremated and a memorial later. As soon as Charles knows anything he will let me know.

Has anyone seen an Obituary for Larry as of yet??
