Unfortunately, I have some bad news to report regarding Jeanne Smith. Jeanne told Barbara Fugate this morning she has ovarian cancer. She is going into UT Southwestern on Monday for further tests and diagnostics to determine the extent of the cancer.  Jeanne asked that I put this on our GB and ask all her friends for prayers.  Later next week when she has all the results she will let Barbara know.

We have another classmate that needs our prayers. Please ask God to help Jeanne through this.

Place: Ada Ann's aortic valve replacement

Comments:
I know we've all been worried about Ada Ann because we haven't heard from her. I knew nothing about a heart aortic valve replacement so I looked it up today. Here's why we haven't heard from her, it's a very serious operation and she's most likely still in the hospital. I've copied some info from a site.

"After an aortic valve replacement, you'll usually need to stay in hospital for about a week. The time it takes to fully recover varies depending on factors like your age and overall health. Your breastbone will usually heal in about 6 to 8 weeks, but it may be 2 to 3 months before you feel your normal self again." It went on to say it is a serious operation taking 4-5 hours.

Please keep praying for Ada Ann as I know she must still be in the hospital. All we can do is pray God watches over her and brings her through all of this as we wait for our dear friend to be able to go home. We will wait and continue to pray for some good news soon.

Carol, I haven't seen or heard anything on Ada Ann either. But I doubt Joe or her kids would be posting anything. We will probably have to wait until she is able to post herself. I'm praying it all went very well and she will feel better with the new valve.

Prayers as we wait for that confirmation.

Hi SOC family, just read the guestbook and wanted to say that I will be in prayer for you Ada ๐Ÿ™โ€ฆIโ€™m lifting you up in a favorite scripture Jeremiah 17:14
โ€œHeal me/Ada, LORD, and I/Ada shall be healed; save me/Ada and I/Ada shall be saved, for you are the one I/Ada praise.โ€

Yes, we all need to thank Richard Carter for his generosity of buying everyone their first drink!  it was appreciated and started the party off nicely. We also did a toast to all those we have lost and all the good memories they gave us.

Oh, and thanks to Ada Ann .  .  . uh, I mean Carol Carpenter for driving in from KCY!  [rofl] [biggrin] [crazy] If you were at the party, you'll know why we're laughing!!

If you missed the Fall Mini we had Saturday, you missed a good time! I posted some pics on the "Our Photos" tab under " Mini Get-Togethers Pg 2" for the Saturday pics. We actually filled the entire pg 1 and I had to establish a pg 2.

Remember, at the bottom of these posts is a direct link to the website. [smile] We had 23 attend and 13 of us went to dinner. Thank you to Kathy & Fred Nickols who drove from Paradise, Jimmie & Karen Hughes who drove from Meridian, Vernon & Joann Moreland from Italy, Carol Carpenter from Kansas City & Darlene Moree from Athenes. We loved seeing you and appreciate you coming!! [love]

Well darn Rickypoo, sorry about the foot surgery.  Crutches and only one good foot can be dangerous and very inconvenient. [frown]  I severely sprained my left ankle & foot Aug 20th and I'm still walking cautiously and can't stand or walk on it for long periods of time or it begins to hurt/swell.

Take it easy and I hope it heals quickly and your back walking much better soon!  Will miss seeing you tomorrow!

Sandy, I had planned to come to the meeting on Saturday, but I had foot surgery a week ago and have discovered that itโ€™s not that easy to get around on crutches and this little three wheel knee rover so Iโ€™m going to not be there at the meeting as much as I would really love to.

Will definitely miss you and Mike!  I certainly understand about doctor appointments cropping up at the most inopportune time. But, we have to take care of our eyes and other health issues first. Hope everything goes well this afternoon and by end of weekend you your eye feels better and your are "seeing" much better.
