Comments: We are OK. Heck of a light show, noise, wind and over 3 inches of rain. Thunder was so loud, a couple of times I thought it must have hit the house, but it didn't. City sirens sounded a long time. The rain was so hard you could barely hear them. Thanks to all who checked on us

Comments: YES! It was scary & close, within few miles or less, from our house! But it missed us! I'm going to check with Jack as it headed straight his way too! Then at 12:35am the 2nd round hit with very high winds and rain. At 1:30am I was finally able to go to sleep. Going to check with my friends in Wylie and Lavon as it also went in that direction. Thanks Ada Ann - - Don & I are good!

Comments: Ok, went to goverment site & hard to find the exact wording anywhere but, this is the bottom line & why it's so confusing. We, TEXAS, will be voting on 10 different Proposals on 11-5. Proposal #4 is whether or not we want to change the TX Constitution in order to permanently keep politicians/legislators from trying to enact a state income tax.
I did a copy & paste. Here's what it said in a nutshell:
Texas Proposition 4, the Prohibit State Income Tax on Individuals Amendment, is on the ballot in Texas as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 5, 2019. | | A "yes" vote supports this amendment to prohibit the state from levying an income tax on individuals. |
| | A "no" vote opposes this amendment, thus continuing to allow the state to enact a tax on individuals in the future through a statewide referendum. |
OK, I got it Vote YES on #4. ![Thumb - :thumb: [thumb]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif)

Comments: you're right Don, it's a tricky question we will al face come voting Tue. But the key to remember is that we will be voting on an "amendment " to the state constitution on whether we want to permanently ban a state income tax or not. We are NOT voting on whether we want a state income tax. So please read the question carefully so you understand wht you are voting for or against.
Personally, I'm voting for the amendment to permanently ban a state income tax. Everyone should vote, just make sure you understand what you are voting FOR or AGAINST!

Comments: HEADS-UP - NOV. 5th BALLOT - TEXAS INCOME TAX - READ CAREFULLY!
I don't know where my neighbor got this info, but he's pretty active politically.
According to his FB source, the Texas Income Tax question has created an uproar over its wording. You'd think it would appear as a simple, straight-forward question: "Are you in favor of a state income tax? Yes or No" But, this one may cause some to vote the opposite of their intentions.
He has not provided an advance copy and I have not seen the exact wording used. But, the heart of the question apparently goes to whether you do or do not support an amendment to permanently ban a state income tax.
So allegedly:
Vote YES if you DO support an amendment to permanently ban a state income tax (the same as saying, "I support banning a state income tax permanently.")
-or-
Vote NO if you DO NOT support an amendment to permanently ban a state income tax (the same as saying, "I support a state income tax.")
However it reads in the final print, might go over it again to make sure you haven't been tricked into pulling the wrong lever.
If this is old news or has already been beaten to death on FB, please pardon the duplication.

Comments: Thanks for all the updates on Charles. Since he was admitted with a suspected cardiac problem that didn't show up, sure hope 1 of those 5 Dr's will help resolve whatever it is and not send him home worried about a relapse.
He's sure been a tough old bird to go thru all he's had to put up with over the years. But, call him the 'Bouncer', because he's always been able to bounce back.
Kathy is awaiting a call back to schedule knee replacement surgery - long overdue. But, it will not be anytime this coming week, so I made our reservation to join y'all for the mini next weekend.
After that, I may be 'Mr. Mom' for the next coupla months - let the honey-do's begin!
Paul - We're gonna miss you. But, I'm putting a plug-in to SNL for where we should go to celebrate your return next time around - just up the road, like last time!

Everyone travel safely.

Comments: I talked with Judy Carpenter & Charles about 5pm yesterday when he was back in his room. Judy was there with him yesterday. It seems the test they did that determined he may have a heart blockage said one thing BUT, when they did the angiogram there were no big blockages! They didn't put in any stents. Charles & I talked about 9pm and he said the main Dr is coming in to talk with him today. Hopefully he can make more sense out of what's going on with him.
Charles said there are too many Dr.s involved and each giving their own opinion!! There are 5 different Dr.s. Sounds like too many cooks in the kitchen!

Comments: Good news! Charles called and said they ruled out one thing. They didn’t. have to put in a stent, but they are keeping him another two days because of more fluid on his heart. He is so grateful for all of your prayers!

Comments: I turned my PC off just before Gary posted last night. Charles called this morning about 9:00am. Said he was having the agiogram today (10-17) at 1:20pm. As Gary said, this is serious, Charles has been having trouble breathing for awhile & also chest pains. Let's all pray they can just put in stents if needed because he can't withstand open heart surgery!
We have a lot of very ill classmates, PLEASE PRAY for all of them! Charles Moss, Paul Scholte, James Kidd are the 3 for now!
James - If you haven't read FB, James is having surgery in day or so on his back for Stage II Melanoma. Kay will let us know the results after surgery.
Paul - He is home trying to stay disease free so his new cells can completely regenerate. It's been rough with some really bad days but, yesterday he had some improvement. Let's pray it continues.
God Bless the Class of '66! We all need prayers as all of us have different illnesses.
