This is a great idea, Sandy!  I love that place.  Everyone else will, too.  See you tomorrow.

Place: Repost of Mini & Dinner Info!!

Comments:
I'm reposting the Mini & Dinner location for those who may have missed it!  See Below.

Our Fall Mini is this Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00pm @ the Hyatt on Campbell @ Hwy 75 in the bar area.  About 5:45pm I will come around and ask "Who's going to dinner?"  We are not going to El Fenix this time. We're going to Southern Recipes Grill in Plano.  It's only a block or so from El Fenix.

Basically we leave the Hyatt and head N on the access road just like we do going to El Fenix.  The only difference is when we get to the R.R track at Plano Pkwy .  . . . we turn left onto Plano Pkwy instead of going straight.  Cross over Hwy 75 and it's down the street about 2 blks.  I'm linking a map for you.  When you turn left onto Plano Pkwy go down to the signal light and as soon as you cross over the little bridge, turn right into the drive that enters into Collin Creek Mall, which is being demolished!  As soon as you turn in it will be there on the left.  Lots of parking places.  We will have tables reserved for us. Remember, there's no need to get on Hwy 75, just stay on the access road from Hyatt to Plano Pkwy.  If you need more info we can discuss it at the Mini & I'll bring maps!

I will have my El Fenix appetite all primed and ready for Spring.  I will remind everyone that after this long without, if someone tries to taste off my plate, they might lose a hand.😳

Yeah Paul, those home delivery food companies are kinda cranky!  But since you couldn't be with us Sat, we're not going to El Fenix.  Save it for you! [biggrin]

I think everyone will like Southern Recipes.  Don & I have Sunday breakfast there a lot & we've had 2 girls luncheons there.  We'll see what the group thinks.

Looks like a great place.  Thought I would order Sat night and have them deliver so I could at least eat with you all. They wouldnt do it, said something about the food getting cold before they could get it to Oklahoma...I think it was just an excuse not to do it. 😉

Sure hate to hear about folks losing their big old Live Oaks, especially when they crash into your roof during a storm, but very glad no one was hurt.  We have a 'biggun' right in the middle of our front yard, probably 150 yrs old - if it falls toward us while we're home, y'all may never hear the end of it!

Charles - I can't think of a better way to celebrate your exit from the hospital (again) than to hook-up at the mini - looking forward to seeing you!

Carol - We'll be spending the night after dinner Sat., so you won't be alone in the hotel.

Paul - Despite the passing of a classmate, hospitalization of another, and a tornado raising hell in our hometown, you're still in our prayers as you continue your recovery.  We know you'll be with us in spirit this time and pounding the table for more chips next time!

Hope to see you on Saturday, Charles. Hope to see lots of folks.
Will anyone besides me be staying at the hotel?
So sorry for all of the property damage caused by the tornadoes--but so thankful that nobody was killed. Pretty miraculous, I think.

Just spoke with Bovie.  It was the 2nd round of straight line winds & rain that got 2 of his trees.  One was huge and very old but no damage to their home.  However, Jimmy & Cari Martin did suffer damage to their home.  One of their trees fell into their home!  Luckily it didn't go all the way thru the ceiling but into the attic.  They lost both of the big live oaks in their front yard.  Their neighbor has a tree in his living room.  Thank God everyone is alive!

Glad to hear the post-tornado news up north has been good, so far.

Checked on Cuz Larry Edwards in Canton & they're OK.  And, since Paul chimed in, looks like that includes him, even though storms moved on up into OK & AR.

Hope & pray all were similarly spared.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of SOC Journalism teacher, Mr. Manton. I never took classes under his teaching. But, did major in photojournalism in college. And, I was East Texas State University's Outstanding Graduate in Journalism for 1971. Many of you know I was a writer/editor/supervisor at The Dallas Morning News. THAT is where I got to know Mr. Manton. He sometimes worked at The Morning News during the summers. That is where I got to know this awesome man. Saw him years later while visiting my aunt at Grace Presbyterian Village, where he was living. Unfortunately, by that time his memory had diminished and e did not remember. me. But my appreciation for him has not diminished. He was a brilliant, kind man and a gifted teacher.
