Place: Richardson Comments: For those of you who have asked about donating to the Go Fund Me acct set up for the 4 families who lost their teenagers (James Kidd's G-son being one of them) last Tue in the horrific accident on Hwy 78 in Lavon. It would be best if you donated via the Go Fund Me acct. Sometimes circumstances are beyond what we all would like and this is the best option. I know we have a very caring class and we still need to keep the Kidd family in our prayers.
Place: Richardson Comments: Wow, that sounds just like Myrna as she is so sweet and thoughtful. I will call Kay Kidd tomorrow and get Jason Kidd's full mailing address for anyone who would like to send a card, note or prefer to send a card with a check made out to Jason (that's James' son) and mail it directly to him as opposed to going thru the "Go Fund Me" acct. I'll post a GB message as soon as I get the info. Once again, I ask God to Bless the Class of '66.
Place: LV, TX Comments: I join with all of you in expressing deep sadness and offering prayers for James and the Kidd family over the tragic loss of grandson, Jordan, and 3 of his classmates in the auto accident. I copied SNL's initial post and sent it out to all SOC '66 vets on my e-mail distribution list, which I hadn't removed Speedy from, and received this reply from his wife, Myrna (posted w/her permission): "Will definitely have them in my prayers. I don't know if Speedy knew him or not but this is a time for all the prayers the family can get. I thank everyone for their prayers for Speedy during his illness and for me after his going home to the Lord. I know this is really a hard time especially for someone so young. My heart goes out to this family. May God give them strength through this tragedy. Myrna Harrison"
Place: Plano, TX Comments: Randall Sims and I am very saddened to learn of the death of James Kidd's grandson, Jordan. When I heard on the news the surname Kidd, I was immediately concerned. Our hearts go out to all the Kidd family and all the families in Community ISD. Praying for all.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: I am horrified to hear about the tragedy in James Kidd's family. That makes two of the deaths whose families I have ties to. So VERY SORRY. Such a tragedy. We love the Kidds and are praying for you.
Place: Richardson Comments: I agree Richards, I don't believe much of what I read on FB. But before I saw FB this morning I read my daily paper & it was on the front page about the accident and listed the 4 students names. It also said that Jordan's father, Jason Kidd, is a Capt. with the local Fire Dept. I contacted Kay directly to ask if that was James' G-son & son listed in the paper and she said yes. I was hoping she would say No, but unfortunately there is sadness & tragedy again in our SOC group.
Place: Calif. Comments: I never really read, or share those news stories on FB...never sure about them. But, the one about Kidd's grandson happen to catch my eye. Terrible news and a terrible tragedy. I trust his whole family will do well through this.
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: I just read Kay Kidd's Facebook post about James's grandson. Oh, my word. Life often changes in an instant, as we all know. 😢 Thank you, Sandy, for keeping all of us informed here. 💕
Place: Richardson Comments: Tragedy has struck our SOC group again. If you're in the area you have probably heard about the 4 teenagers who died Tue evening in a head-on truck and van accident in Lavon, TX. All 4 were H.S students at Nevada. It was 2 girls and 2 boys. One of the boys, Jordan Kidd, is James Kidd's g-son and the father, Jason Kidd, is James Kidd's son. You will see posts on FB asking for prayers but I spoke with Kay via P.M. to confirm the I.D. of the two names listed in the paper. Please remember James, Kay & the Kidd family in your prayers.
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Don, Thanks for wishing Yuvonne a happy birthday. We had the mini on our calendar for months but the 3 guys I fish with rented a house in Rockport for a week and asked me to conduct another fishing clinic for them. Von and I have been in the deer stands every day since the season opened. Neither of us has seen the 10 point or better we are waiting for. We are out of backstrap and sausage. Thanks , again, for keeping up with special events. DWS
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Yuvonne Fox Smiley, today, Nov. 6th (what’s left of it)! Yuvonne – Missed you/y'all at the mini recently. Hope Dale didn’t lure you out on one of his TX safaris, in search of a wild critter to roast over a campfire for your birthday dinner. But, so long as he eats some before you and your Rolaids are handy, you may have a good tale to share with us. Best wishes for many happy returns!
Place: Rainy Richardson Comments: Thanks Ronney! Can't believe I woke up this morning to drizzling rain! It wasn't in the forecast until late Wed & then all day Thur. Yuk! It's still lightly misting now.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: The steak house is on the west side of Central Expressway. It is called: Long Horn. I really liked it.
Place: Richardson Comments: Glad to see you were treated in grand style! Hey, what was the name of the great steakhouse you ate at on Central? Always interested in good restaurants.
Place: Allen, TX Comments: Thanks for the birthday wishes, Don. My daughter, Katie, has us over to her house in Burleson. She made dinner and a birthday cake for me. Then we watched basketball on TV. The next night, Connie took me and my coworker/friend (the red haired man who ate with us after the recent mini), to a really good steakhouse on Central Expressway. Had a great time and great food. I get Connie's gift on Thursday. She bought me tickets to B.J. Thomas' concert. Will be fun. |
