Thanks, Sandy and Jack, for checking. My Facebook is back to normal. Now I just have to work on my Calendar, Contacts, and Messenger.

Carol - I just saw your GB post ( 1:42 pm Sun) & immediately went to FB.  Yes I can see your Timeline & see that you have a large friends list.  Jack made 2 posts on your Timeline this morning.  Sometimes FB acts squirrely!! [confused]  I tried one time for over an hour to post a simple photo and it wouldn't let me. I quit FB for the day. Went back next day & it was working perfectly.  Go figure.  But your Timeline is in tack as well as your friends list.  Give it a rest and hopfully later this even or tomorrow you'll never know there was a problem!  [rolleyes]

Good morning, everyone.
If you are my friend on Facebook, would you please let me know if you can access my timeline? I seem not to be able to do that - and I seem not to have a friends list. I'm pretty ticked off right now!

Free Queso for life, now you're talking.  I've had Abeuelos queso and it's delicious!  Looking forward to being able to see you & Kathy next year!

Sandy,

I will try to remember to repeat my jokes 3 times in a row for your sake. 😉.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. 🦃.  By the way, at Thanksgiving why do we have 🍗 instead of 🌮 or 🍕 like they did at the First Thanksgiving?  Just wondering.  By the way, by the way, I won queso 🧀 for life at Abuelos.  Its to your advantage to take me there when I am in town (hint hint).

OK Paul .  .  . I had to read it 3 times before I fully got it, but then, I'm not good with cleaver jokes.  [frown]  Just ask Ada Ann or Smiley.  Glad to see you still have your sense of humor considering all the bad stuff happening in your life.   By the way, I don't like smoked turkey, it tastes like smoke!

Hope everyone is gearing up for Thanksgiving & will enjoy some family time as well as great food & dessert!  I found the perfect paper plates to use for dessert at our family Thanksgiving.  They read, "Pass the Pie!"  Oh yeah.

I’ve always felt that smoking a turkey is hard on your lungs, not to mention the difficulty finding the size filter it takes.

That's very encouraging news about Paul and I certainly hope it continues with acceptance into other programs that prove effective in his battle.

As an FYI, my Kathy had her right knee replaced a week ago today.  So, I've been teleworking and caretaking while she struggles with a walker, pain meds and PT.  It's gonna take a while, but this was well overdue.

Guess I'll be Mr. Turkey Chef next week as well.  I haven't decided whether to smoke or fry it ... better let her choose! [sneaky]

Paul & I have stayed in touch throughout his ordeal of battling cancer.  His new and clean stem cells have taken hold & his white blood count is pretty good, so we were hoping for a great result & 100% remission. Not yet!  Below is the update from last night, 11-20, & a partial from this morning.

Saw my transplant Dr today.  We got improvement but not remission.  Next step is experimental treatment hopefully in OKC but there are limited slots so may have to travel.  My Dr is not concerned about the future but I would have liked this to be over.  I am trusting God for this but I wouldn't be human if there weren't mixed feelings about it all. Will keep you posted.
My best,
Paul
The Leukemia and Lymphoma society is supposed to contact me soon to start the process for getting me in a trial program.

As we approach Thanksgiving, it occurs to me, most all of us have so much to be thankful for this year.  Please remember our many SOC Friends who are struggling with health and other issues and say a prayer for them.  God Bless the Class of '66.

H a p p y  B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Everett Richardson, today, Nov. 16th!

Everett -
Hope you had a great day with all the ‘guy stuff’you could handle.  Here's 3 basic ‘Man Rules’ to keep in mind (which appear on a t-shirt Kathy gifted me a while back): 1. We don’t need any directions; 2. We’re not mind readers; & 3. If it itches, it will be scratched.

Best wishes for today & many happy returns!

Ronney, I know those memories must be painful.  I'm glad you have the ability to see the happier side of things.  Yes - - God gave you another grandchild to love.

Today is the first anniversary of my baby grandson's death. I cannot believe a year has gone by. A little sad. But, dealing with it. On the good side of this....I know where he is and who he is with.

Veterans Day 2019:

Lago Vista had 2 very nice ceremonies today - one at City Hall and another larger one hosted by the students at LV High School.

I hope each of you had a pleasant, memorable day with family, friends, co-workers, and others.  We should ensure that on this day, during this month, and throughout the year, we honor all who served, no matter when, where, or in what capacity, and their service to our country will not be forgotten.

Best regards to all.

I'm reposting this here for anyone who isn't on Facebook but might be interested in this concert.
To my SOC '66 friends and my JD friends in the Dallas area - I'm planning to attend the SOC '66 Girls Christmas Luncheon on Saturday, December 7th. As it turns out, Jim Curry is performing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on Monday, December 9th...so I plan to make it a long weekend and attend that concert. (If you aren't familiar with Jim, you can find information about him on Google, etc.) I will be ordering my ticket this week. If you are interested in the concert, let me know!

I have tried to find information on this tragic event and was able to see a video of a TV news broadcast and also a video of the district superintendent. The caring and concern of the Supt and the out pouring of support from other school districts is incredible.  While this is certainly heart-wrenching, I believe the response will positively impact the lives of even the broken-hearted.  I am so glad to know my fellow Texans still are the kind of folks who really care about others.
