Sending my prayers to the Smith family. I used to think "Things can't get any worse" but I learned that just isn't true. Sarah and Sammy, stay strong.

Comments:
As Sarah just told me, "Life has gotten complicated!"  She got to hospital this morning and Sammy is running a fever!  She can't go in.  Moving him to another floor and testing for COVID-19. She can't see him until results come back.

I know our group is close-knit and we all care about each other.  Please pray Sammy doesn't have COVID-19 and results come quickly so Sarah can be with him & he can have that much needed surgery.  Geez, it's been since Saturday morning when he fell & broke his femur bone in left leg!

A bit of good news.  Last night Sarah was told that Zale Lipshy allows 1 visitor IF they can pass the protocol.  Sarah said no problem & she is headed to Dallas early this morning.  Let's pray the doctors there have the ability to get Sammy intubated and do the surgery he needs today. At least Sarah can now be there with him.

Other good news, Martha has been allowed back in Kindred to be with Larry during the day.  Larry's status is still day-to-day.  Some days better than others.

Wish I had better news but just spoke with Sarah.  No, the Tyler hospital wasn't able to intubate Sammy yesterday.  They are transferring him to UT Southwestern here in Dallas.  Sarah just got word he's being transferred about 30 minutes ago.  They had to wait for a Dr to accept him before they could do the transfer.  Sammy needs our prayers because he has to be in pain with that broken femur bone since Saturday.

Most of you will probably remember a few years ago he fell while mowing and broke some bones/vertebra in his neck and they had the same problem . . .  couldn't get him intubated! They had to call in a specialist.  Please pray for Sammy and for the Doctors to get it done tomorrow. And while you're at it, Sarah could use our prayers too.  She's not being able to be with him as there are No Visitors allowed!  No exceptions!

Place: Updates & Good Wishes

Comments:
Ronney & Connie are on FB but you can never get too many good wishes, so Happy Anniversary again to you guys!  Best Wishes!

Rickypoo, I know you aren't on FB so a very Happy Anniversary to you & Marilyn!!  Sorry y'all can't go out to celebrate but there will be another day and we can all celebrate.  It's going to be a great Fall Mini when we all can be together again!!!

Gordy - He was sent home last Saturday, 3-14. They needed to clear out as many people as possible.  They made arrangements for Home Health, PT, Nurse, etc to visit him.  I talked with him yesterday and he said it was a very busy week with 1 to 2 people there every day.  He was tired from all the PT work but said his knee & drop foot were getting better. His dtr also comes over to check on him too.

Larry Lewis - He remains in the Kindred LTAC facility.  Some days he seems better & knows his family and then next day he's talking gibberish and making up crazy stories about odd things. He still seems to get agitated and very restless at times. It's just a day-to-day thing and they never know which "Larry" they will encounter each day.

I have not seen anything from Sarah regarding Sammy's surgery on his left femur bone that he broke Saturday.  Surgery was scheduled for 8am today.  Anxiously awaiting good news.

Let's all just stay in and take all necessary precautions if we have to go out for food or meds.  Let's keep thinking about better days and plan to have a great celebration at the Fall Mini.

I'm so sorry to hear of Sam's fall and that he'll require surgery, especially at a time when everyone is being told to stay home, and Sarah can't (and shouldn't, under the circumstances) be near him.  They certainly need our prayers and I know we we'll deliver!

Place: Sammy Smith Hospitalized!

Comments:
SOCites, another classmate is suffering and in need of our prayers!  Sarah Smith, Sammy's wife, posted this message on FB earlier today.  This is concerning because of Sammy's other problems. Below is her message I copied from FB.  Please pray for our dear friend Sammy Smith.
"Hello family and friends, this is the best way for me to get info out to everyone. Sam fell this morning and broke his femur in his left leg. He will be having surgery on Sunday morning at UT Health at Tyler. With the Coronavirus restrictions, I cannot be at the hospital so the staff has been keeping me informed. As I get info, I will post and keep you updated. Thank you!"
