Place: Edmond Comments: Toast: to a class that still wants to get together after all these years. (Believe me, I know of some classes who don’t want to). I hope the Fall Mini is the best one ever 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Place: Richardson - No Mini Today! Comments: Heavy rain came thru but now sun is coming out. Today was supposed to be our big Spring Mini! But we all know how that's worked out. This was going to be a well attended Mini as we had folks from OK, CA, Austin, Houston, E. TX and all over saying they would attend. So I'll ask everyone to put it on hold and let's make our Fall Mini a really joyous and well attend celebration. As we all sit in our homes across the nation, let's all be glad we live in America! Why don't each of you who check-in here leave a toast to what you're thankful for. My toast: To Good Friends Who Are There When We Need Them and May We All See Each Other In The Fall.
Place: Edmond Comments: Fantastic news on Sammy. Still 🙏
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y 40th A n n i v e r s a r y to Rick & Brenda Mitchell, married Mar. 24, 1980. Rick said: “We went downtown to the Dallas County Clerk’s office to get the license. I recall saying, “We've already paid to park, why not go to the basement and find a JP”. The rest is history.” H a p p y 50th A n n i v e r s a r y to Cathy (Wood) & Fred Nickols (class of ’65), married on Mar. 26, 1970.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Outstanding news! Let's keep those prayers going for getting sprung to go home ASAP and continue a successful recovery - PTL!
Place: LV, TX Comments: I'll get caught up on some calendar reminders while we're awaiting news on Sam's surgery ... H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to John Southworth, our most senior citizen and guest book visitor from class of ‘63, for Mar. 24th!
Place: Sammy Update! Comments: The surgery went well and they were able to intubate him. She said they did a total hip replacement. Thank goodness that's over and now recovery can begin. Thank you to all the prayer warriors!
Place: Today's Update on Sammy Comments: Sarah sent note & posted on FB that a little before 9am today Sammy is in surgery. Estimate a 4 hrs surgery. Pray for a good outcome & healing for our dear friend Sammy.
Place: Pottsboro, Texas Comments: Sandy, you may want to put Sammy’s information on the 63 site as he is Marty Smith’s (who is class of 63), younger brother. I am sure Sammy could use more prayers too. Live you stay safe.
Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Thanks for the update Sandy. Prayers for Sammy and Sara. And praying that all are safe and staying out of Harm’s Way. Take Care and Wash your hands.
Place: Richardson Comments: Just heard from Sarah. She has spoken to Dr this morning and Doc thinks he can do surgery in the morning. Sarah said because of the coronavirus there is more red tape for them to go thru. I asked her to tell Sammy we're praying for him and send our love.
Place: Sammy Update Comments: Got word from Sarah - Sammy tested Negative for COVID-19. Yeah!!! She has met with his hip Dr. & Dr think the infection is from the bit of pneumonia he has. Will need to clear up that before can do surgery. Sarah seemed relived and very optimistic. What a nightmare for them. Keep the prayers coming for a good outcome and for Sammy to get surgery so he can start recovery.
Place: Edmond Comments: Praying for Sam and hoping the majority of you are well. Seems like every few months we go through especially tough times as a class, but obviously what is going on now tops them all.
Place: Richardson Comments: No new info regarding Sammy. Last time was Tue evening when Sarah had returned home to "wait" further instructions from hospital. I don't know if they will do surgery or not until test for COVID-19 come back. I can't imagine the pain Sammy must be in. He fell early Sat & broke his femur bone. It's now Wed & no surgery as yet! As you said Ada Ann, don't ever say "it can't get any worse", because it can! As soon as I hear anything from Sarah I will post it here. My best to all of you . . . Stay in and stay safe!
