Comments: Barbara & I went to see Christie this afternoon. Her husband Bill was also there. She did confirm she had a stroke before the surgery, but physical therapy is helping her regain use of her left side. They have discussed radiation treatments & she thinks they will start this week. We told her all her SOC friends have been praying for her continued recovery. She told us she has felt all the prayers & asked that we continue to pray for her as she goes thru radiation treatments & rehab! Bill showed us her rehab schedule and it's tough!! She'll be in therapy from 10:00am to 4:00pm with only a 1 hr break for lunch!! So visits will have to be when she isn't in therapy. She loves all the cards.... so keep them coming. Her address is shown below. Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation Attn: Christie Torbett Rm. 321 909 N. Washington Ave. Dallas, TX 75246
Comments: Cindy Riggs, Jim Steele (Gerry's Bro.) was married, no children. He was an Aggie, worked for the Forestry Dept. in East Texas. He died while waiting for a heart transplant. Gerry kept his father's home in Dublin, Tx. His wife will retire in 2 yrs. then move there. I've seen him many times the last 20 yrs. He came to the 40th in overalls, sunglasses, John Deere hat. When together, it's like it was 45 yrs. ago. And you know how that was....with B. Browning in the front seat, and Creep in the back seat, nobody messed with us. Lots of good times.
Comments: Debbie, I will be thinking about you tomorrow. Please let us know when it is over....keep your bright smile on your face!
Comments: Deb, I'll be thinking about you in the morning and say a prayer for you. Eager to hear your good news. ![]() ![]()

You can log on to classmates.com, I have pictues of my family posted. Our reunion is in Waxahachie in September...you guys need to come! And thanks again for including me in your get-together this summer, I will be there depending on the dates. I have a couple of trips planned. CRG
Comments: David Hamm, you little skamp you! All is forgiven but I'm not giving you my new address just in case. ![]() No, Jack, my sister has not been in prison, but she may be going after she kills me for writing about her harmless high school girls group. I may have exceeded the allowable artistic license. Thanks to all for the encouragement to finish my novel but first I have to find my manuscript. I misplaced it after my last move. Many of you are aware of my propensity for procrastination, but I'm going to start looking for it soon...real soon.

Comments: I s/w Alan Torbett (son) a few minutes ago. Yes, it is OK for Christie to have visitors!! Just use good judgment and keep the visits short as she needs rest! Also, she isn't in her permanent room as it wasn't ready yet. Alan said they are hoping she'll get moved to the permanent one soon as she's sharing a room with several people. He asked that until she has her own room to hold off on the flowers or large items as there's no place to put them!! Once she is in her own room then she'll have space for personal items and gifts & flowers! But that doesn't mean you can't send cards!! Send 'em!!!! ![]() |
