Memo To KarenMG: In honor of your big sister, last night I placed a bag of mashed potatoes on my front porch and set it afire.

Your story yesterday about her little club, destroyed every fantasy I carried for her the past four decades. Thanks a lot. I hate you.

Have a nice day.

BTW Toni, no matter what the subject, I think it's amazing that you wrote a book and it was published. That's quite a feat and an honor as well. You go girl! I'm going for the record, outdoing even JD Salinger who said it took 10 years of on and off writing to complete Catcher in the Rye. I started a book when I was in my early 20s and it's still not done. If I can't come up with the final conclusion for my work of fiction soon, I'm going to change it to a handbook on procrastination. I think I qualify as an expert on the subject.

you're right John. But it sounds like DMC's brother in law is just one of those guys that can just step into good fortune....the rest of us just step in it. (where's Jack...there's loads of pun opportunity here....and I mean loads)

KMG - I didn't know who's porch the 'sack-o-poo' was headed for til the deed was being done - by that 'former CG buddy', who was also one of our classmates.

I can assure you, it was a totally random, juvenile Halloween prank & wasn't intended to target you, Debbie or your families.  Your porch just happened to be in the 'line of fire'.

I know he's a lurker & hope he'll fess up, so I don't have to.

Richard, tomorrrow I will turn down a money-making opportunity. Not all that glitters is gold (or Shinola).

the story goes a long way towards explaining who I am today

DMC, you've got to move on those ideas. Sometimes we think we don't know Shinola about anything, but you've got to take a chance.

Richard N.- There must be something to this "poop thing", my ex-brother in law's brother is rolling in the dough from "poop". He and another friend decided to collect (don't ask me how) all the poop from the raceway in Grand Prairie and sell to a fertilizer company!!! I guess that's how money is made, from ordinary things we don't think about or carry thru on ideas Go figure! If it was my idea, it wouldn't fly- just a "dumb idea". Oh well.....
Thanks for all the good wishes, I thought I was ok also; guess I have to wait until next Mon.
Love to all-  DEB

Lots of doggie tales going on here. Reminds me of when Mary Ann & I first met; she said the moment she saw me she wanted to sweep me off her feet.

I can tell yo another true story; in Calif. there's a thriving business of companies that will come to your house and clean your back yard from doggie do. Yes, this is a real business.  They charge by how many pounds of "product" (that's what they call it) is removed. It sounds like they could make quite a killing at Southworths.

For those of you who haven't checked recently . .  The Torbett Family (Alan) posted an update on Christie.  You should read the post & keep in mind, they do not want unannounced or unexpected visitors.  She is moving to the Baylor Rehab center & they want to get her settled and acclimated before letting people visit.  I thought her son, Alan, did an excellent job of posting the note.  They want her to have visitors but at the same time it has to be monitored and not interfere with her Rehab work.   Let's continue to pray for her recovery & honor the family's wishes with regard to visitation, we have to get approval thru Alan!  She has some great kids as they have handled all this with grace & tried to keep us informed.  But as soon as I get an exact room we can sure send lots & lots of cards!!!

Speaking of dog poop (or doog pop, depending on which part of Oak Cliff you are from, I suppose) My sister Linda (SOC '61) and her high school girlfriends had a "club" of sorts called "The Poopoo Pinchers Club" (I know, pretty lame) and when they had meetings (slumber parties) they would initiate new members by blindfolding them and then having them sniff a bag of freshly gathered poop and then having them step barefooted into mashed potatoes. You can imagine the squeals.

Don L. I'm still curious about your partner in crime. Believe me, I have no blood lust or desire for revenge. Now if you will excuse me, I've got to go look for my machete.

Barack Obama? I thought it was Morocco Bama.
