Favorite movie?  I'd have to think about it, but what comes to mind are "Stars Wars, Episode IV", the music and opening scenes of aircraft/deck activity in "Top Gun", and probably "Patton".  At least I've been to some of the Patton places (this life and have been to his burial site in Luxembourg).

My kids and I lived a deprived life in Spain in the late 1970's.  AAFES didn't buy Stars Wars for distribution in Europe.  Guys started showing up with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, R2D2 and C3PIO name tags.  (No Princess Leia name tags then).  I knew we were missing something.  So, when we came back to the World in 1979, we went looking for the movie.  By the time we saw it, they were running trailers for the second movie.  I made sure that we saw the third movie before we went back to Spain in 1983.

What about "Giant", that was one long movie, but it was worth it.
Wind was blowing awfully hard this morning, kept changing lanes.

After Clockwork Orange, I am a BIG fan of a wonderful European movie called "EUROPA EUROPA." I can't watch it without getting emotional. One of the best films ever made, in my humble opinion.

OK, if we are naming our favorite movies, I will add one of mine. It's not a movie for everyone. Like it or not, it was a very intellectual movie disguised in so many ways. But, when you analyzed it, it was very deep with a very important message. AND, it was nominated for Best Picture of the Year. I've seen it at least 50 times and never tire of it. I wonder if anyone else in our class found its message fascinating!

My favorite movie? Well, my little droogs, it is:

A Clockwork Orange

Ok, I'll confess to my favorite movies...generally, they're older. Anything my brother was in (the movies were actually pretty bad, but he's my brother and he ain't heavy); also, the Princess Bride(watched it twice this week alone), The Searchers, Silverado, Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction and anything in the 1950's horror genre.

Slammin' Sam Smith, gotta leave your body guards at the door during the card game. We need you with us, so Happy Jack will have some one to talk to.

Favorite movies I have watch at least 10 times. Rudy, Die Hard, The Sandlot, The Princess Bride, The African Queen, Casa Blanca and Forest Gump. There are quite a few more, but these are my top seven.

Anyone messes with my buddy Jack and I will be calling the Bonafacio Brothers from Chicago. Tony and Nick can be on the next plane to DFW. They charge me an arm and a leg but FOR an arm and a leg. So watch it.

Good Night and Stay dry!

I saw the article in the Dallas paper when Ben Chapman died, Richard. I am glad to know the lovely Julie Adams is still with us. I don't think the remake of that movie was near as good as the original.

A shallow mind, huh KMG??  Just because you can skip a rock across the surface, doesn't mean the lake isn't deep!!!
You're in real trouble now. You just wait!! Any minute now my friends will be posting, taking up for me. They will give you what for.

I don't think I have seen a really good movie in a long time. Can't think of one. Hard to pick a "best movie". Depends on the category. Saving Pvt. Ryan is a great picture but so are the Star Wars movies (they are the old western movies we grew up with just set in the future). When Sally met Harry was good. But they don't hold a candle to Gone with the Wind or Casablanca. I don't think we have any real leading actors or actresses any more,

Memo To KMG & Jack H.: I did see Memento and thought it was excellent. The lead character finally resorted to tattooing notes on his body to try to help him remember things. It was work trying to keep up with the backward sequences & flashforwards.

Hawkins: My website is not totally down and out, but is certainly on the backburner as I work thru some other projects at the house.

Nance: You asked about the stock market. I no longer have a clue as to what it is doing and just hope I can predict the direction for one week at a time. I don't see how it can finish the year higher than its Jan. 1st level but ...? The Bear Stearns collapse was a shocker!

Other news: Looking forward to another visit with the Smileys on Thursday. Life is good.
