Don L,  I looked at your wikipedia article. I remember seeing the "Memento" movie about short term memory loss But like Karen I can't remember anything about it.
I guess I must have memory loss.

Memo to Richard: I seem to recall that the Elvis wig we ceremoniously presented to you a coupla yrs ago was discovered hiding under a table at the Omni & failed to make a successful escape.

Sandy McM - I guess you're off the hook, since some of your friends chimed in & cleared up the enema & cane thing.  I was similarly ambushed with a surprise b'day 15 or so yrs ago.  I was presented with a 'old fogey survival kit' by some CG friends in New Orleans - Kathy was the prime conspirator.

It contained all sorts of stuff that you might recall seeing in your grandparents' bathroom - over-the-counter meds, ointments, laxatives, Geritol, anti-acid tablets, reading glasses, etc., plus a dandy assortment of gifts for older guys - from Spencer's, of course.

Now, I wonder what the shelf life of that stuff is?

I can just  hear the movie trailer now..."You'll laugh! You'll cry! You'll kiss $10 bucks goodbye!..."

Okay classmates, I need your help. I'm trying to remember the name of a movie but I don't have much info to go on. It's about 8 years old or so, the lead character reminded me of Brad Pitt a little, and although I don't remember the exact plot of the movie, the gist of it was that it kept going backward, to the scene that would have preceded the one you are watching, back and back, piecing together what you were seeing from end to beginning instead of the other way around. It was offbeat, violent, funny, strange but entirely intriguing. If that strikes a note with anyone, please tell me the name of it. I would love to rent it and see it again.

Clever writing there Southworth. I think if we can get you & KMG to collaborate, we might have a pretty intriguing script.

I actually hated that movie - cannot believe that it won any awards.  I just sat in the theater thinking that the film had to have broken or everyone died and that is why we did not get to see the real ending.   I guess I just like a nice tidy ending also.

I saw the movie Friday and did not like it at all.  How on earth did it win several academy awards.

Memo To Linda P.:

I had the same initial reaction as you to the movie "No Country For Old Men". Our problem is that you and I are accustomed to neat tidy endings with no loose strings.

My advice to others is go into this movie with an open mind and a wide perspective. On the surface it is gritty and tense. On a deeper level it is a study in the temptations that confront mankind; how fate and even chance affect us all; and how we bounce around like a ping pong ball buffeted by the well-intentioned winds of Good and the creeping, relentless, darkness of Evil.

And the entire metaphor has no end. Just new chapters day after day ...

I loved the raw landscapes, the perfect characters, and the unyielding, palpable tenison of the tale ... [fade to black].

The End
