Place: Update on Daon Saturday morning - 5-2-20 Comments: Not good news. His BP hasn't gone down much at all & still way too high. Won't be coming home today. If they don't get it under control soon it will trigger his Trigeminal Neuralgia and that is a big problem! If you have a few prayers left in you, please ask for help as this has the makings of last February 2019 when it was a long 6 day stay in hospital for the Trigeminal issue & we don't need to add that big issue to what he's already suffering thru. Thank you so much! ![]()
Place: LV, TX Comments: Well, I picked up where I left off, with the anniversary entry for Susan & Jake on 4/22. Then, turned the page and just got caught up at the end of the work week. Sandy, I'm so sorry to hear of Don's accident and your ordeal for the last 3 days of being isolated from him while the hospital attended to his needs. But, I'm very relieved to hear that his test results were good, surgery was a success, and he may soon be back home in your care again. You've had a helluva ride these past few days, m'lady, and you deserve a few adult beverages, once your favorite patient is safely tucked-in. Our prayers will continue for his speedy, uneventful recovery - and calm nerves ahead!
Place: 2nd Update on Don 5-1-20 Comments: Don was able to call few minutes ago. Not doing that well. His darn blood pressure is sky high which causes other problems & he's in lots of pain. Won't be coming home today. He has history of BP going extremely high, especially after surgery. Told him to ask for pain medication, get some rest and tomorrow will be better.
Place: NH Comments: Sandy, my heart goes out to Don and you. This has been quite an ordeal for both of you. Prayers are with both of you and lots of love!
Place: Don Update at 11:00am May 1 Comments: Good News! Nurse called at 10:41 & he's back in his room. No nerve damage & can wiggle all his fingers. Vitals also good. Now, let the recovery begin. Probably won't come home until in the morning, but we'll see. Thank you for the prayers and good thoughts!
Place: Don Update for 5-1 Comments: I waited until 9am and when no call from Don I called him. No Answer! After tracking down a nurse I found out they took him at 7am this morning to surgery. Still in surgery as we speak at 9:30am. asked if she or someone could at least call me when he's out of surgery & goes into recovery. No, she won't know anything until they call from downstairs to let her know they are bringing him back to the room. OK then, guess I'll just be here in the house not knowing anything until sometime hours later someone (I hope) will call to say he's on his way back to his room. Hospital stays always cause anxiety & worry but, having no contact and not knowing is really taking it to another level. Y'all stay safe, don't do anything stupid just because "you can" as of today per the Governor of TX!
Place: Carthage, Texas Comments: Sandy so sorry about Don’s crash and Praying he can have his surgery and begin healing. No good time but hat y’all are in this situation during this stuff. Take care.
Place: Melissa, TX USA Comments: Sandy, that is good news about the COVID-19 test being negative. It sounds like they are taking good care of Don but I cannot imagine needing surgery and having to wait and wait. Hopefully, everything will go well and he will get to come up very soon. Hang in there! Please know we are thinking of you both during these crazy times.
Place: Don Update for 4-30-20 morning Comments: Talked with Don & no surgery today! Dr. came in and apologized for a screw-up by "someone" who failed to note the schedule that Don's coronavirus test came back negative. Therefore, no time was marked on the surgery schedule. Surgery will be early tomorrow, May 1, and maybe can come home late tomorrow but most likely Sat morning. Good news is . . . he tested negative for COVID-19!
Place: Don Update for this evening. Comments: Talked with Don. Dr. doing surgery said will cut into wrist from underneath and clean it up, then insert a plate & screws to hold it all together. Said surgery on schedule for A.M. tomorrow, 4-30. Dr also tested nerves in his hand and all nerves seem to be in good shape. So, hopefully surgery will happen tomorrow. I'll let you know as soon as I know something. A few prayers tonight would be appreciated.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks guys, appreciate it! There's nothing anyone can do, I can't even do anything. Don called after I talked with his nurse and he said they were just checking his heart and everything looks good. Dr. came in and surgery set for tomorrow. No idea what time. At least now I have nurse's name and direct # so I can call to see when surgery starts and how he's doing. That's all I know. When he has surgery I'll let y'all know. Thank you for the good thoughts and the prayers!
Place: Calif. Comments: SNL I'm sorry to read this. Sounds quite painful and just more to deal with in this world. I trust all goes well with Don's recovery....and your stress level.
Place: Sachse Comments: Prayers for you and Don. I know your frustration. If there is anything I can do. I am just a phone call away.
Place: Don Update Comments: Don called last night at 9:30pm & said swelling will have to go down on his wrist before can do surgery, hopefully tomorrow. I haven't heard anything from anybody today! I'm concerned & not happy! I just called hospital to try & talk with someone about what's going on. Took several pho calls but finally reached Don's nurse. Not doing surgery today. Right now he's having his heart evaluated due to the bypass surgery last Jan. She said the plan for now is to do surgery tomorrow, 4-30. At least she gave me her pho # so I can check back to see about the surgery. This just stinks! Thank you Susan, Carol & Ada Ann. Yes, he could use some prayers! I would greatly appreciate it!
Place: NH Comments: Sandy, When it rains, it pours. I am so sorry to hear about Don's accident and upcoming surgery. It makes it so hard when you can't be there with him. Please know that the both of you are in my prayers. Love you, Lady! |
