Comments: I think I had a harder time at Holmes than I had at SOC. If there was to be a butt of a joke....it was me. Growing up with problems at home can really wreck the self confidence. When I got to SOC, things changed for me. I had a few close friends and seemed to stay in that group. I thought everyone else was more confident, popular, etc....but I guess under the skin, we were all the same and had the same insecurities. I have my room booked for Fri, June 6, so if anyone wants to share that would be great. Mother is not doing good.....really failing. Please keep her in your prayers.
Comments: Annette the Lionette: I always thought of you as a very popular, pretty girl who had no problems. Wow! Turns out we have more in common than I thought. I also had a difficult home life. And, Sandy is right....that is often where we develop a sense of humor. It helps. If you look at many of the successful comedians, you will find they had miserable home lives while growing up. Annette, I always thought you would never have anything to do with me. What a GREAT surprise it was when we met in the 11th grade and had such a good time sitting by one another in class. I have always thought of you as a great friend since that time. You seem to have made a good life for yourself and you have such a nice husband. You're A-OK, even if you cannot cluck as well as I. I am not sure the others fully understand our chicken clucking!

Comments: Sorry, McGee that just slipped out.  Annette, maybe your unhappiness is how you developed your since of humor. I too am surprised as Susan. We had a class together, don't remember which one, cause that's how I met you. You seemed to be very out going, lots of fun and very well adjusted. Who would have known. Sophomore year the Zumwalt people were scary to me. They seemed to be everywhere.

Comments: Bay Watch Buddy, playing with B. C. Browning can be a distraction. The cart girl shows up on every hole (he's a big tipper). I don't mind that, but when they do a pole dance with the flag stick, I can't putt.
Comments: annette, I had no idea. I've heard from two or three other people who say they had a very hard time in high school and these were people that were popular with lots of friends. I thought they had it made.

Comments: Life was hard for me at SOC---I grew up with a difficult home life, my mother was autistic (Aspergaer's Syndrome), and my father was overwhelmed with all the responsibilities. I felt awkward socially, out of place most of the time, but was very grateful for wonderful friends like Faith Sorenson, Ann Del Regno, Yuvonne Fox, Toni Rogers, Sally Taylor, and many more. I think Zumwalt was the kind of place that a person like me, who was often ashamed and trying to hid my difficulties, could be accepted and loved just as I am. I had hoped that SOC would be the same, but for me it was a loud, frightening, and "clickish Lord of The Flies" feeling that I couldn't wait to leave. If if weren't for choir where I could sing my heart out, I don't think I would have made it. Perhaps, there are others with some stories we aren't aware of, that maybe we could help feel like connecting again.

Comments: Sandra McMakin -- What would your mother think if you got a tattoo? What is it and where is it? Don't let Buddy peek. No peeking boys. Someone at work is leaving at the end of the week and I'm learning her job, so have not been on the GB much. Took me awhile to catch up. Sandy McGee and Bovie, please don't take your shirts off. It'll be too much information. The GB has been a good place to visit. What a sense of humor some of you have. It's priceless and I appreciate you. I wish I was that quick witted. But I enjoy it all the same. I've met so many of you I didn't previously know, and have gotten to enjoy again the ones I did know. I know that since Sandra and I have been back in each others' lives, I have just as much fun with her now as I did back in school.
Comments: BLB- You opened a can of worms.you can't judge the book by the cover. out of town out of state 6 kids and working 50 to 60 hrs a week I lost touch. A life of retirement to no kids and lots of time and back home now. SOC webs or fun times, new friends rekindle old friends. My arms are always open some close ones 66ers R Anderson, Smoke,Vernon, Munn,pistal Peters,Murry,transgender Reid, Oliver hero Dunn,no tennis Wilkerson,too tall Steele, first kiss Orr, little man big man Jimmy Hughes many more that never come on line. Bobby B u would take David White like a baby brother.We Had over 2000 kids in school. I wish I could shake a hand on each one. oh McKee don't mature it turns to manure always stay young.
