Don - not sure what you had in mind, but the best way to check the format and how your post will look is by clicking on "preview".  Once it looks like you want it, then click Post Message.

Jack - I hope not but, it's long enough!  Lots of long curls in the back!!  The place where he usually gets his hair cut hasn't opened back up yet.

We saw Don' surgeon yesterday afternoon, 6-11.  He did remove the long hard cast and replaced it with a shorter hard cast.  At least this one is just below his elbow.  He got a Hot Pink cast!!  Still lots of pain in his arm and fingers hurt a lot but he's hangin' in there and working thru it.  Go back to Dr. in 2 weeks.

Hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying the beautiful weather even if it is mostly from your patio!  [smile]

Thanks Susan, I've run out of word as well.  It's a very nasty shattered wrist and it's just going to take time to heal.  Keep your fingers crossed this Thurs will be a good step forward with a short cast to replace that awful long one clear up to his armpit!

Sandy, please tell Don I'm thinking of him and that my heart goes out to him.  That sounds like a really awful break and a long time to heal.  I wish I had something profound to say to him to make him feel better.

Unfortunately Carol, it is not an option.  There's a difference in breaking a bone and shattering it.  He shattered both the small & large wrist bones. The larger one is the one "less shattered" if that's a word?  They put a plate and screws in it to hold it together.  the smaller wrist bone was so severely shattered he couldn't put screws or plate in as there was nothing to hold it to!  His arm is immobile because the small bone has to grow back together correctly, if he moves his wrist at all it will grow back improperly and then there's not anything that can be done as it healed jagged or whatever. We're really hoping this coming Thurs, 6-11, the x-rays will show it's healed enough to go to a short hard cast.  At least that will be below his elbow and allow a little bit of movement.
