Comments: Also, for those who know my cousin, and our classmate, Larry Edwards - he will become a newly ordained Catholic deacon at a ceremony in San Antonio on Sat., 5/31. I told him I'd come, altho it was gonna be really hard on my knees. He apologized in advance, but assured me there would be plenty of 'calisthenics' during the ceremony. I expect to drink ample amounts of 'pain relief' at the reception afterward.
Comments: Sons have gone now. Had a great visit with them, but the week went quickly. Shot lots of holes in 'Osama' target at the pistol range. I did a big smoked BBQ for them, plus a few other family & friends last Fri. Ada - Glad your loved ones escaped the worst in CO tornado-hit area. I sent direct e-mail to Robert Norman to check on them. Major congrats to Karen 'Grand-cake' on newly adopted gals. Still looking forward to our mini on 6-7-8.
Comments: KMG are you moving far?? Does this have anything to do with the fact that Southworth is coming to town?? SNL, I just love the way you older siblings treat the younger ones. In the pride and Joy page: ie...."Karen's older daughter...and ....the other daughter" When my brother meets someone who knows me, he always says he is my "older, smarter, better looking brother" I guess some things never change!!!
Comments: SNL, great tribute to our military. I've always loved a SOC bear in uniform. Thanks to all our heroes who serve or have served our country. For the first time in a few years, I will have all three days off for Memorial Day weekend, but I get to spend it moving! Hope everyone else has an enjoyable holiday.
Comments: I am so grateful that I was able to exchange "I love yous" with Christie when I saw her last week. I didn't know then that it would be the last time she could communicate it to me. I love you, Christie girl. God bless you and your family.
Comments: Sandy, thanks for reminding us not to forget....that was nice. Everett and everyone else, Christie's daughter, Amy, called me last night. As if their plate wasn't already overflowing, Bill's sister passed away yesterday, and they are all having to cope with so much at one time. She reported that Christie is resting peacefully although she can no longer communicate. Hospice has encouraged them to continue speaking to her which they do around the clock. She asked for continued prayers for their family and thanked us for everything we've done. I assured her that we would all remember them in our thoughts and prayers.....
Comments: Susan... I thought the same thing! I even looked out to see if lightening was striking!! Want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day on Monday and hope everyone gets a 3-day weekend!! I know we have a lot of sadness on this site due to our friends & their families illnesses. But let's all be thankful for the Good things we have in our life and the blessings we have received. God never promised us life eternal ... at least not on earth! May you have a safe Holiday and pray for our troops fighting for our freedoms!! I've scattered some Memeorial Greetings on several pgs of the site.
Comments: Robert, hope you were not effected by the bad weather. Let us know. CONGRATS!!! Shortcake. Richard; do think it is wierd that you, Richard, had an older brother, Jack and I, Jack, have an older brother, Richard?? What are the odds?? Jada, good to hear that you kids are OK! Pool Guy, I know that are used to getting out of holes but how did you get Bovie out of the sand traps????
Comments: Everett is posting???!!! The world must be coming to an end!
Comments: Robert Norman, are you out there? Were you affected by the storm? The hardest hit town, Windsor, is about 15 miles from Judea and Joe. Two horse barns were hit near the barn where she keeps her house, so they were moving horses to that barn yesterday.
Comments: Everett, you can read the Blog Christie's dtr posts at http://christietorbett.blogspot.com/ or you may contact me directly. But you are correct, her brain cancer is terminal and things are bad indeed. Please, let's continue to keep Christie and her dear family in our prayers!
Comments: SNL - I spoke with Pat Williams today. Looks like a glum situation. Any updates as of now?
Comments: A bit more info on the Larry Joe Robards situation may help. 1. Mike R's email address is mr1244@tx.rr.com 2. Years back Larry changed his name to Jeremy James Ross 3. Has a Texas Drivers Lic. issued last in 2001 (expired) 4. Last known to have surfaced in Calif. 6 months ago. If any of you are in touch with Jeremy, please let Mike know. It means a lot to him.
Comments: I am trying to locate my Brother - Larry Joe Robards to notify him of his Mother's death. If anyone has any knowledge of where he might be or how to contact him I would appreciate an Email or you may call me at 214-663-8826. Thank you so much for your help. Mike
Comments: Dropped in on the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia on Tuesday . Went to NYC Wednesday and Thur. . Wow, New York city is crowded with people and the subway is wild and complicated. They have more taxis than they have people. Headed to Niagara Falls now. The statue is green did you know that? Stoped at Morrison New Jersey for the night. SOCretes is here too and having fun. |
