Comments: Heaven will be a happier place. I am so glad that Christie is no longer suffering, but being selfish, I wish I could have seen her in June. The family has my prayers.
Comments: It is with a heavy heart and tears that I say this . . . Our dear friend, Christie Blevins Torbett, passed away at approximately 5:45am this morning. Also, Bill's sister passed away Thur & her funeral is also being planned. Please send your prayers for Bill Torbett because he will need all the strength he can get as he plans a funeral for his sister and his wife in one week!
Comments: OK Happy Jack and Karen - just to make everything official - Shelby wanted to wear a PINK cap and gown but they made her wear a red one.
Comments: Robert N. -- Praise God that the tornado missed you. Something like that really makes you stop and think. I know. I was in His hands a few years ago when a crazy kid in a bright, fancy, new, red sporty Toyota was showing off on the highway and lost control. Three times, I saw the tail end of his car in the air coming straight for my windshield. I thought, "This is the END." Each time, just before the car would have hit my windshield, his car suddenly went to my left and missed me. I have not figured any reason for it to do that, except that the Lord was protecting me. I had to stop and catch my breath when that was over. Then, I had to go see if the kid was OK after his car rolled over about 10 times....on Central Expressway of all places. Glad you and your family are safe. I would have thought you'd be safe from tornadoes in Colorado, too. Hmmmmm. Guess we can't be too secure anywhere.
Comments: Mr. McGoo...if you and Botox Bovie can't get your balls out of the sand at Cedar Crest...well...that explains it all!!! May we all be thankful for the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our ability to even have a Memorial Day Holiday...at 3 P.M. on Monday...please say a prayer. Hey McMakin...where did you go!!!
Comments: Ok Goofy - I should have known you would read my statement wrong - John is 97 and my Mom is 86.
Comments: Well I thought I moved out of tornado alley but yesterday one went just over our head and land just north east of us here in Colorado. It tore up a lot but the Lord saw fit that it missed us. Hey Jack, I remember Richard, I remember that little sports car he had, what was that ? an Austin Healy or what ? take care folks.
Comments: Everett, I think there are lots of "X's" on this site, as we all have way too many!! Don't start keeping count . . . that could be dangerous!
Comments: I did all that stuff this morning. Query, how many X-wives do I have on this site?
Comments: Hey Y'all (boy it feels good to hear Texan talk again) everybody drive safe and have a wonderful time with your families. Keep our men and women who are serving and have gone on before in your prayers. Say a big prayer for Christie and her family, and hold those you love tight. We never know what tomorrow may bring. Ronnie-----A big "Pak-pak--pak---a---KEEEK" to you good buddy. Congrats for raising such a great family. PS---Hang in there Mr. Norman And "Good Night Miss Kalabash---wherever your are."
Comments: Darn, that one got thru, I need to recheck the blocking system! Cooking dinner . . .!!! Eve, I've already cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen & gone to The Great Indoors looking for bath fixtures. Shouldn't you be cleaning the cat box or something??
Comments: Susan, I post quite often but SNL blocks my messages. What about my 1st amendment rights? GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS. Ya'll should be cooking dinner instead of making fun of me.
Comments: Memorial Day Weekend each year is an emotional time for me, in a negative sense. On Memorial Day of 1974, in my 29th year, I accidentally met my (2nd) wife (Robyn) in the back parking lot of the Willowick Apartments in the Village off Greenville Ave. I was lazily painting my boat and nearby someone had stolen the battery out of Robyn's green Dodge Charger. I've reported this to others before ... she was waiting for me in that parking lot like an iceburg waiting for the Titanic. It was the one single day that would torpedo the rest of my life. This coming Memorial Day, my boy Matt will turn 21 at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. For me, Monday will be a day of bittersweet memories and missed opportunities ... of dreams that never quite worked out as planned. I shall fly the flag, mow the yard, read a Harlen Coben book and curse the thief who stole a car battery back in '74.
Comments: Capt'n Happy Jack, the Botox Boy and I struggled with the traps at Cedar Crest. Both of us took 4 shots to get the ball out. It was ugly, but the beer was cold. I used to laugh at the old guys playing in large groups. Now, we be them......
Comments: Well Jack, I think the only tool in your chest that might help is the lever. Use it to wedge yourself away from the dinner table. Here's another hint form Heloise. Spray fix-a-flat sealant in your mouth and press your lips together tightly. You'll drop those extra barnacles in no time. Shortcake is definitely starting the celebration early or she's seen one too many camera flashes go off. |
