Well, I guess can count me in with others who have had to have parts replaced.  I found out last week that I need a hip replacement.  It was a shock!  I haven't gotten all the logistics worked out yet.

OH, HELL NO! [nono] Not that last elective procedure!  What other source for twisted humor will we have to rely on? [sneaky]

Just do the other hip or pick a knee if you need something to be preoccupied with. [cool]

Don, I got her a Berg polar cube that keeps the ice cold water circulating all day. The home health folks and the surgeon say it's what has kept her swelling down. It is great and I agree with you that it has been a big help. ( Did anyone notice that I completely passed up an opportunity to say something about putting it on her bottom to stop the swelling?)  I guess we have all reached our warranty and are having to have parts replaced. I got a new hip in March 2018. Thinking about having a total personality transplant in December.

H a p p y  B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Charlotte (Hilburn) Walker & Charles Hilburn for Aug. 7th, and Jack Hawkins for Aug. 9th!

Charlotte, Charles and Jack - We hope y'all celebrated 'dialing up another digit' with family and friends (virtually & telephonically, more than likely), old fogey cards, gifts, and the best food that can be had while in semi-lockdown.

Best wishes today and for all the years to come!

Paul - Good to see you managed to post a note here, even if it took a 'Dale-ism' to spark your keyboard.  Hope you're able to drop us a line regularly.  I'm sure Dale would appreciate having Von's good leg(s), in case you forgot to fling it(them) back! [sneaky]

Dale - I played Mr. Mom for Kathy after she had her right knee replaced back in Nov.  I hope someone tipped you off about the "Cold Rush" machine.  It has a thermal pad that straps to the knee (different pads for other body parts) with water lines and circulates ice cold water to keep swelling down.  Not a silver bullet, but really helped.  Her knee is fine now, but wear & tear on her hip and lower back aren't.  So, between the 2 of us, we have 3/4 of a good back! [cool]

Need to post a coupla b'day notes ...

Dale,
Glad Von is recovering well and impressed with your culinary repertoire. You are quite correct. It is Chee-Lay-En. If you say Chill-Ee-Yen, as in Chilean Lobster, people will comment, “Chile and Lobster, that sounds terrible.” By the way, after each game, I used to go pick up all the Debs’ knees that flew off during their high kicks. No one ever knew because I would mail them back to them anonymously. 😱

Thanky, Paul. So good to hear from you.  Miss Sandy,  see, the Hippies used to say " Keep the faith, Baby." So, being dumber than a post, I sorta got those last two words transposed. Von and I are hunkering down and doing well. From March till July we went out our front gate 3 times and that was just to get grub and meds. She got her one of those new knees July 13th , (dang those Debs routines} We have been taking care of her recuperating and I have been doing all the cooking for 4 weeks. This last week I have mostly toured the South American palate for entrees and paired those dishes with Chilean wines. ( I hope you pronounced that adjective as CHEE- LAY-EN.) Von has started PT so we now go to Brownwood twice a week but other than that we just check the cows and calves, catch the occasional fish, and read our bibles. Hope all you Golden Bears are doing well and being safe.

Uh, SNL, you left out the option of dumber than a fence post.
Glad to see Paul out of the cone. Who knew a Smileyism is what it would take.

That's the problem with Smiley's posts . . . I can't figure out if they're very clever or,  . . . well, too intelligent for me to understand!  [confused]

Dale’s comment was SO “BAD” I had to emerge from the cone of silence. In saying it was “bad” I do have to admit it was clever...I think...
