Place: SOC 65 Comments: Forget about Peggy Daniels, she is from our class, got her mixed up with Peggy Robertson. A thousand pardons my friend.
Place: SOC 65 Comments: Sandy, just letting you know we lost two more teachers this year. Joe Waddill- English and Weldon S Wells - Shop. Also, Dempsey Dunn Tarver from 65 class, is looking to get in touch with Peggy Daniels from your class. if you can help on that I would appreciate it. I do not know her new last name, as it was Castleberry at one time but changed after that. Thanks girl.
Place: Richardson Comments: For those who are interested, Mr. Gunter's obit link from Jaynes F. H. is below. You should read it, he was a very interesting & smart man! https://www.jaynesmemorialchapel.com/obituaries/Sidney-Ray-Gunter?obId=17844609&fbclid=IwAR3DPbIKb_m_JRfyIIvhyHNCwQQ6t_fWOwbGBoJeQHGkZ2hyOKljuYKHD3g#/celebrationWall
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks for the FYI James! Now there are 3 teacher names to add to the list. Makes me sad.
Place: CarthGe,Texas Comments: Sandy I just saw the obit for Mr Sidney βRayβ Gunter. Always liked him even though I never had him for a teacher. My sister Pat May have had him. He is at Jaynes in Duncanville.
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Sandy, I had Mr. Waddill for home room and was probably just as bad in that class as the others. Later, when I was superintendent at Pilot Point and Joshua I would run in to him at TASA meetings. He was the principal at Clara Oliver then and he told me that he always thought the only thing that would keep me from going to college was high school. He was truly a great person. I also would run into Mr. Pitts and he was even more shocked. Once I gave a speech on TEA district evaluations to the TASA/TASB convention in Houston and Mr. Pitts came up after the Q & A session and told me he was amazed that I was still alive. I had had a few sessions with him at SOC.
Place: Richardson Comments: I found Mr. Waddill's obit. He was such a great English teacher. If you're interested, here's the obit link. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/canton-tx/joe-waddill-8908247
Place: Richardson Comments: Tanya, thanks for reminding me to update the teacher list. I did see on FB that Mr. Wells passed away & need to add him. I think you may be thinking of Joe Waddill that taught Sr English. I had him my Sr yr and loved him. I'll ck out Waddill and see what I can find but do you know about when Mr.Waddill passed away?? That would be helpful to me. Thanks!
Place: Soc1965 Comments: Sandy, you might want to add two more teachers to your memorial page. James Wadell and Weldon Wells, Shop. Also, can you tell me where the Vietnam Memorial is that your classmate made for SOS students Is. My memory does not work as well as it used too. Thanks sweetie. Tanya
Place: North Richland Hills, TX Comments: Dale, thanks so much for the advice. I'll follow it. I'm looking forward to not living with this severe pain. I've already got two canes and my hubby bought me a fancy, schmancy walker the other day. It matches my car!

Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Paul, Just be careful where your replacement brain originates. They sell those brains by the ounce based on the profession of the donor. Politician brains are ,by far, the most expensive because it takes soooo many of them to get an ounce.
Place: Edmond Comments: I guess I am joining the crowd. I have been told I need a brain replacement. The doctor kept mentioning my defective gray matter so I guess they have to replace that too.
Place: Lazy S Ranch Comments: Don, The personality transplant is not " elective". The judge has ordered it.
Place: Way out West Comments: Susan, hip advice from a former patient that is dumb as a post: choose a good surgeon, get out of the hosp. as soon as possible, from the first day , do all of the exercises you can stand, use the walker then cane till you are SURE you won't fall. buy or rent the circulating ice machine and eat properly and take your meds. It helped me to watch a bunch of hip replacement vids on You Tube. ( there are several ways to do it). I had no choice but I'm really happy that I had it done. About a year later, charge folks to see your scar. I'm getting $1.75 per look. (haven't had any takers yet) |
