My siblings have thanked you and I do as well, however, mine is a bit different.  I used to sit and look at mama's yearbooks, and I must have been at least 9 or 10, because I could read, but I was not yet in High School ( at the much hated Kimball<which is much loved by me> but I would look at all the pix and of course I thought the Golden Debs were the real deal...  Even if my generation had/has no clue what a "deb" stood for...I wanted to wear a satin shiny uniform too, although in the pix they were gray, Mama told me they were gold.( I wore the phenomenal scarlet of a Troubadear years later! )
And lest I forget... Boy was I thrilled when I went to the dentist and met the beautiful and oh so famous Janie Jones!  I really felt like she was a celebrity after seeing her face on all those pages! She was just as pretty when she was assisting Dr. Harrell! Never did meet Ol' Sammie Smith but if I had you'd a thought I'd seen Elvis!
I remember seeing some of the photos circled with dates and she told me those were classmates that went off to Viet Nam and got killed.  It made me sad to think that she knew someone who had died....When we went to the State Fair I can remember her looking for the same names on the small Memorial Wall there...It may have been those times, looking at her annuals that I gained my profound appreciation for hair...I came by it so honest...it truly is a curse to love hair so much and not have the kind you need in this day and age...I envy you all of the freedom and pride that came with wiggin'!
I have been reading the GB going back to when my Mama got sick, and I must say, my longing to meet you all is greater now than then...I have the privilege of seeing many of my own classmates often, because we are still friends, I am very proud of that, and Mama was proud of us for it.  2 years ago, I  lost one that I was especially still close to, and it still hurts everyday, I know comfort would've come easy from him.  So I say to you all how happy I am that you have each other and you will smile this weekend when you talk of my mom. Your class was well represented by Toni, Barbara, Karen and Sandy when they came and visited and giggled with her these past few months. Your gifts of so many kinds will always be treasured.  Each one of you has said to me how proud you are of us and how my mom would be proud of how we took care of her, well, people...we are my mother's children and to love her was easy and to love each other is an honor to her and Daddy. I feel your prayers and I feel her presence in most of my moments, and instead of thank you, I will say I am so sorry that your friend is gone, and though we may fall short, my family will toe the line of friendship left behind.  God Bless Y'all and have a hoot on 6/7/8 and.....
Jeez be on time, Sandy works hard on this stuff!

Man, all the Gulf Coast area bears are dropping like flies. I was hoping to meet some of you at the 6-7-8 party.

Next thing you know, the Smiley's will be sending their regrets!

Oh, Well ... more cake for me. And an enhanced probability of winning a major door prize!

I didn't mean to shout, something is wrong with my puter. It just happened all of a sudden.

All -

I wanted to follow suit with my sister and thank you all for your years of friendship to our mom.  She absolutely loved her time with you guys.  A special thank you to Mr. Fugate for the tribute video.  To see how many lives my mom touched and how much she will be missed by so many helps me to keep relaizing how very lucky I was to be able to call her "Mama-head".

Thanks again!

Joyce and I were hoping to be there on Saturday, but an old friend who had moved to Michigan is coming in this weekend for his son's high school graduation and we had told him that he could stay with us when he came to town.(At the time, we thought the graduation would be last weekend.)

I wish all of you a Happy 60 and ask that you take care of my piece of the cake.  We will be sure to block off the next date and not let something keep us away.

To Christie's family---

Your Mom was one in a million.  Everyone who knew her loved her, and your family was so blessed.  She was gone too soon though.  Jack's right, it was our priviledge to know her and love her.

Wish I could be with you guys Sat.  Our boys here in Houston are our number 1 priority, and they've got us booked.  Hope to see you all in November.  Cheers---and have a blast y'all.

We are the lucky ones for having known Christie. We appreciate your thoughts, but there is no need for thank yous. It was a privilege being Christie's friend. What we did was out of love and that is what friends are for.

Took a vac day yesterday so I could spend all day at the house waiting on contractors to arrive & getting a bathroom wallpapered.  Finally at 6:45pm I got to leave!  I read GB late last night & I have two things to say.

1) Rickypoo--SPEAK UP! You gave me a headache last night trying to read your post!  See you Sat & hope you aren't whispering!

2) Toni--You're in trouble!!  Don't come until after 2:30!!    WRONG!!  The party starts at 2:00!!  We aren't taking pics at 2:30.  I've never had anyone who didn't want to be in a group photo, but if they don't, they can stand & watch while we take it!!  We are having other activities & if you come dragging in at 3:00 or 3:30 you don't get to visit much & you'll miss the other fun things we're doing!!

PARTY STARTS @ 2:00PM SATURDAY - - BE THERE & ENJOY ALL THE FUN!!  DON'T BE LATE!!!

Copy that!

This song is for the guys, '66 & '67:

Oh be careful little ears what you hear,
Oh be careful little ears what you hear,
For the Father up above is looking down with love,
oh  be careful little ears what you hear.

Oh be careful little mouth what you say,
Oh be careful little mouth what you say,
For the Father up above is looking down with love,
oh be careful little mouth what you say.

Have fun today and don't loose too many balls.  The wind is suppose to be strong again.

For three days I have searched for a transvestite to drive the beverage cart for you guys.  No such luck.

Shortcake, I hope the firemen don't make the same gesture as Bobby does in the pictures that you take.  Congratulations, your hard work (if you can call looking at all of those hunky firemen hard work) has paid off!
