Comments: Shortcake... haven't you heard? I'm going to be serving at the breakfast buffet!   All kidding aside, it's been a dreadful day for Ada Ann & Joe! Their 6:00am flight got canceled this mrng. Finally got on another flight and was routed to Chicago. Had mechanical problems and ended up in St. Louis! If they're lucky they hope to get in around 9:30 tonight. But St Louis is having some very bad weather right now with tornadoes touching down and the sirens are going off everywhere!! Be kind to Ada Ann tmo as she is having a very stressful day which I'm sure isn't helping her high blood pressure! It also ruined our plans to have dinner together tonight!! We are both very disappointed as we'd planned this for months!   Hope everyone else doesn't have this much trouble getting here. Drive safely!!! And remember it starts at 2:00pm!!!!! 
Comments: SNL - I don't know about everyone else, Sandy, but I am planning on being at your front door Sunday morning for breakfast so this year you had better have enough food to fix it for us. Last year you did not plan well.
Comments: I was away from a computer yesterday so I am just catching up, first of all drying my eyes after reading all of Christie's sweet kids comments on the GB. They really are the greatest! Then I am wiping tears of laughter away after reading the golfers comments about their "windy" (in more ways than one) golfing adventure on Thursday. Deb, I am so sorry to know that you are dealing with ongoing pain. I'm greatful that there is medication to help ease it. As they say, getting old is not for sissies. Congratulations to your newphew Byron on his marriage today. Sorry you can't make the mini reunion. Can I have your piece of cake? lol

Comments: Should be a fun crew staying at Double Tree Sat night. I know these SOCites are staying, as they sent me em when they made their reservation. JD, Karen RL, Don L, Everett, John Southworth and Karen & Jimmie Hughes. Could also be more that I'm not aware of. Ada Ann's husband, Joe, will be picking her up abt 6:00ish on Sat for a big family dinner that night. It's Joe's B-day! For those of you spending the night Sat... would you please make sure Shortcake gets up and downstairs before 10:00am.  I don't want her to miss the breakfast buffet again!! It runs from 6 to 10.
Comments: SNL....we should all toast to Christie AND her very caring children! We should all be so fortunate as to have wonderful children such as them.....a job well-done!
Comments: Doc Dave... haven't heard from you in a while, but looking forward to seeing you tmo at the Double Tree!!! Those of you traveling today, tonight & in the morning... be safe & thanks for making the effort to be with us tmo!! Even John Southworth from The Woodlands is going to be there... now that's a real treat! Best part, he's bringing Dru! Can't wait to see everyone! 
Comments: Deb: Sorry you won't be at the mini-reunion tomorrow. We will miss you. You are always such a ball of energy at the reunions. About getting older and fat....Getting old SUCKS. In my mind, I am still in my 20s. I used to think of that is immaturity. Now, I think of it as having fun. And, we are not fat. We are developing powerful muscles that enable us to sit for long periods of time without tiring. Last, but definiitely not the least important, I hope you start feeling better soon. You have been through so much with your health lately. You are in my prayers.
Comments: Boy would I have loved to have seen you guys out there trying to hit that golf ball in all of this wind. I have a hard time even walking from the car to the door of the RV much less hitting a golf ball. We were working with the explorer's club tonight teaching them how to repel from the back of the fire truck because it was too windy to go down the building. They enjoyed it! Got to go. Wish we did not have to wait until Saturday to see everyone. Bye
Comments: Hey to all! Here is an early "HUG & KISS" to my SOC family, since to my displeasure I wont be there Sat. Of all times for nephew to pick for his wedding  , he thought choosing 6-7-8 would be a great way for him to remember their anniversary!!! (Cuz, the nephew is Pam's son Byron)Last week I started having chest pains off and on, so I went to the cardiologist- nothing serious she said "just angina"- so she put me on nitro patches to change every 12 hrs., nitro tabs, and nitro tabs to put under my tounge when pain starts. So, to my family and friends ''KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM ME".  Just like the old saying, "sure is the pits getting old...."We all get heavier as we get older because there's alot more information in our heads. So, I'm not fat, I'm just really intelligent and my head couldn't hold any more_so it started filling up the rest of me!!!" (unknown author) Sorry that I missed Christie's funeral, but my thoughts )all good and prayers were with her and family. GOD bless everyone
Comments: Sounds like you guys had a really good time. But with all this darn wind I don't know how you manged to get the ball down the fairways . . . I had a hard time just getting my car door open! Carol Carpenter's "Best of Kansas City" gift box arrived today. It's really nice & loaded with lots of yummy treats! I'll pass out tickets & then draw for the lucky winner. Thanks Carol! Comments: Budman, great time, sorry it took us old guys so long to make the turn. Too much wind, lots of b.s., and throw in the Cheezehead with the Botox Kid, hard to hit a golf ball when defending yourself from insults and envy. They just wish they looked as good as you and I on a tee box. Throw us in the mix for September. The first round of cold ones is on me.
Comments: To the boys of 66 - thanks for a great time to remember today in our golf game. The friendship and brotherhood made the event NO LOSERS, Kinda funny sitting and talking (when JD wasn't talking) of all the things we have in common. There are no better friends than the old friends you grew up with. Comments: Rick You probably know more about it than I do, but.. Click start then click on control panel. When you get the icons, click on display and click the settings tab. Look to see what your screen resolution is set . By changing this you will control the size of the items on the screen. Some programs that have graphics reset the resolution to work best for them and sometimes when the program is shut off, the computer does not get reset to the standard. Let me know if that does it.
Comments: How very special our GB is today to have Alyssa, Alan and Amy post on our site!! And yes Amy, we will lift a glass and do a toast to your Mom (Christie) on Saturday!! You know how your Mom always "loved a party!". We will smile and enjoy each others company as we never know what tomorrow may bring.
