Comments: I just responded to the email listed on your post. Sent you my add! You can always get it from the Donation pg too!
Comments: SNL - can't locate my SOC book here - must be at the lake - em me your address please - oh and could you please send me Gordy's.
Comments: Yeah John, lunch time is when I eat and type. Hawkins left his gift but I got it so I can give it to him later. I know he was sick when he got to the wedding and realized he had left it behind!! Stamps...? Hmmm, better go check out that Visor Organizer!!
Comments: Sandy, it looks like you and I were drafting our words and posting within 1 minute of each other. Great minds ... yada, yada, yada
Comments: Like the Three Wisemen (minus one), Dru and I followed the North Star to Dallas, bearing gifts for three lucky members of the Class of '66. As KarenMG mentioned, she was deemed worthy of the gift which would demonstrate that she really knows her way around the kitchen (and hence the way to a Man's heart). Who could be more deserving of the Pro Whisk Set and 45 min. instructional CD? Jack Hawkins was in dire need of some system to keep himself organized. What better way to get your act together than to proudly wear the Visor-ganizer? Holds up to 7 lbs. His came pre-stocked with Tic-Tacs, chapstick, a lotto ticket, a two-letter supply of stamps, and a package of carrot seeds (in case his plane crashes on Survivor Island). [sidebar: he left it behind as he rushed off to a wedding. You just can't organize some folks]. Sandy Norman Lynn was the highly deserving recipient of a copy of the First Edition of the SOC Den, published in 1953 (and pried away from eBay for a sizeable contribution). No pic available (because Dru had it wrapped before I could find my camera). Thanks again to all of you for a spectacular weekend.
Comments: That's OK Ronney, I just thought you'd been hanging out with McMakin. She never has been able to figure out those 3 initials!! John S. gave out two gag gifts -- 1 to Jack and 1 to Karen MG. KMG recvd a set of kitchen whisks which are supposed to help her get a man! Well, that was like giving a cat a ball of yarn!! She amused herself and many of us the rest of the day. By the time we went to dinner she had Toni in stitches & had one on her key chain!! You had to be there... !! ![]() ![]() ![]() John also had a gift for me, but it wasn't a gag. I was so overwhelmed and surprised it brought tears to my eyes! He had obtained an original First Edition SOC Den published in 1953! They didn't even have a Sr Class until 1955. John, this will always be one of my prize possessions and I will treasure it forever. I'm going thru each pg and reading everything. I love all the notes you left in it!! You are the BEST!
Comments: Oops! Sorry, SNL. My fingers must have gotten tangled up when I typed your initials.
Comments: Wow! Where do I start? I know, Wow! Just now getting to read the GB and talk about THE MINI. So many people to thank. SNL and Barb, thanks for putting it together with all the fun, food and the beautiful toast to our beloved Christie. You girls always do a great job! Thanks to Jimmie and Karen Hughes for the wine at dinner and thanks to JD for dessert and so much more. Thanks to Carol C who we all sorely missed not being there (Barb, I'm glad you won, you deserve it). It was great seeing Buddy C after so many years (thanks for coming to our soiree). It was also great to finally meet John and Dru Southworth. I especially appreciated the gift John gave me to help me reel in a man. It was a set of whisks and a 45 minute instruction CD (I never realized how complicated whisking could be before). One of the whisks had a keychain attached so I can display it prominently everywhere I go to entice a man with the anticipation that I might be a great cook. It's worth a shot at least. My face still hurts from laughing. I wish even more could have been there. You missed a great time. Oh and Happy Belated Birthday to Eddie Arnold on June 5th. Hope it was great and that you and Barbara will come to the next mini that we have.
Comments: Ronney--You'll get a 2nd chance to see David...he'll be in the grp photo!! And BTW, that's SNL to you buster! I think the only ones not in grp photo were James Pulis & Buddy Capps who arrived late.I've recvd two sets of photos & KRL has her's in the mail today! So get those photos out of the camera, on a CD & in the mail quickly!! If you have 6 or less, go ahead and send them full resolution via email. More than 6, please put on a CD & don't reduce them. The memories live on through our photos. I think we're gonna have some great memories, what with Happy Jack's burlesque routine, Bovie & Rick in a Deb hat & some other antics... should be interesting!! ![]()
Comments: I've heard that before, Susan.
Comments: Richard, if we're not there, just start without us.
Comments: Ok, I've decided to fly in for the reunion. We'll be there Friday and look forward to seeing Southworth next Saturday. "Hi "to all. Seems there was something else on my mind, but I can't quite remember what it was...it'll come to me., just the age thing kickin' in.
Comments: Now, SLN, how the heck did I miss David Mitchell? Darn! I sure would like to see him again. Hope he comes to a future mini-reunion.
Comments: Sandy - You and Barb put together a great party ... of course, you always do! I had a great time and was sorry I couldn't join everyone for dinner later. Finally got to meet the famous/infamous John Southworth! Can't wait to see the pictures!
Comments: Want to give an update on the great party & 60th birthday celebration we had on 6-7-8. ![]() Ronney McKee brought his band jackets from SOC & Zumwalt. Sandra McMakin brought her entire Deb uniform. Plus several people brought old photos & memorabilia. The doctor made a house call Saturday as David Mitchell & his wife Shirley made a first-time appearance. Also John Southworth ('63) & his wife Dru and Buddy Capps ('67) & his wife Georgene were first-timers. We really enjoyed having them & hope they'll return!! To sum it up. . . we had cake, snacks, gifts, music, photos and lots of F-U-N!!! Thanks to everyone who came, I had a great time!!! |
