Hey GB Gang, I have a party invitation for you!  Two wks from tmo will be July 4th & Gordy Johnson is having his annual July 4th Party at his house.  He wanted to invite his SOC '66 friends and asked me to put an invite on the GB.   So for those of you in the area. . .   come on over, it's always a blast!

When: Friday, July 4th

Time:  4:00pm - until everyone goes home!

Place: Gordy Johnson's house in Carrollton ( I'm not going to publish his add, but he's in the SOC Dir or you can Em me & I'll send it to you.) It's the same place we all go to look at the gorgeous Christmas lights & meet Santa!

What To Bring: One dish that will serve 6-8 people.  If you need suggestions or have questions about what to bring you can em me at:  sandylynn@sbcglobal.net.
So far we have on the list 2 banana puddings & a peach cobbler being brought.

Gordy will furnish Plates, silverware, cups, tea, and all the ribs and chicken you can eat!

It's very casual and will be indoor/outdoor so dress comfortable.

Sandy McM - Pls clarify: "it could be you" - are you initiating a BI on me, or just need some tips on 'how-to'?

If it's the latter, SNL mentioned a couple of websites that we used with some success in locating 'missing bears' prior to our 40th reunion.  As she said, it wasn't free, but these services can be purchased by subscription (unlimited searches) or per individual search.

I'll also e-mail you separately with a coupla names of classmates who've come thru with some surprising results that seem to indicate that they may have a 'friend in city hall' - later.

My son-in-law found 3 6 week-old kittens in the bushes at their house last night in McKinney and is looking for a home for the kitties.  One is calico, one gray feathered with peach, and one strawberry blonde (a male).  My son-in-law is allergic to cats and so they cannot keep one.  The kitties eat crunchy kitty food and are litter box trained.  My daughter now has them in the house and her kids are driving her crazy, wanting to hold the kittens all the time.  Anyway, if anyone wants a cute kitty, please let me know.  I already have 2, and don't need another one.

Sandy McMakin --  I have personally used two diff Search Engines to do background and lien searches on people.  But be aware, none of it is FREE!  You have to pay to do those kind of searches.  If you have a reoccurring need at work you may be able to get approval to buy a years subscription or sometimes you can buy a certain #.  Try it out first and then decide if you want to buy more.  Below are the links.  I'll also send this to your home email.  Good luck girl!!

SNL -- I think the group pics are great and lots of fun.  The individual pics are great too.  Thanks for all your hard work. (Next time, if you have photoshop, will you open both my eyes the same? Thanks. I'll have to practice opening them the same width.)

After pouring over 24 group pictures I finally picked 4 to post.  Unfortunately many were so dark you couldn't see anyone & others were so blurred it made me dizzy!  Trust me when I say, "these are the best!"  The ones where everyone is acting silly are hysterical.  I guess at 60. . . we're still kids at heart!

I want ot thank Shirley Mitchell, David's wife, for snapping all those shots of my backside while I was trying to arrange Bovie & Jimmy so we could see them!!  I always wondered what I looked like from the rear view?

Head to the 2008 Get-Togethers pg to check 'em out.

Karen MG, that was me who said trying to get 35 SOCites togehter for a photo was like trying to herd cats!  Chances of them standing still and behaving . . .   slim and none!!!

There's only one "real" Richard Nance; at least one worth knowing.  (I thought I'd just try to beat Smiley on that one).

Jerry:  The site said it gathers it's info from the census info. Having known that bunch (your in-laws) for a few years, why does it NOT surprise me that a government agency has no info on them?  I have long suspected that they fly below the government radar!!

James - Thanks, also, for the news link on the Galveston boating incident & tragic loss of life.  Ever notice - wherever there's "smoke" in TX, it's likely that "Smokey" will respond to the fire?  I'm glad to see that the Coast Guard is assisting with the investigation.

I've occasionally wished he held a higher office where he might have a greater influence on the state of affairs, both in TX & across the country.  Then, I think of how so many of those currently holding such offices engage in continuous party warfare & have nothing to show at the end of the day, except political gridlock.

I think he gets it.  Like an independent contractor, he remains free from the reins of office so he can respond to issues & get things done, on his terms - not those of the party or the office.

I think he's done very well for himself & I'm glad many of us know him from school days  - mine go back to Oliver.
