Comments: Thank you so much for your comments. Larry Paul Reid Jr, is Larry's son. Our heart and prayers are with all of Big Larry's family. We will always remember his wonderful sense of humor. Larry is my nephew.
Comments: Well, even stranger is that Larry had a son, and I thought he was a Jr. Betty and Larry had one son. After their divorce Betty and her son went to church where I was going. Why wouldn't a son be mentioned?
Comments: Dear Amy, How wonderful to hear from you! Us "girls" think of you often and hope you & your sweet family are doing OK. It's been a rough time for our class of '66 as we have lost some very dear friends lately. Thank you for the kind words about Debbie as she was a truly kind & sweet person. I'll give you a call.
Comments: Dear Ones, ![]() I am so sorry to hear about your classmates. Please accept our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies. Debbie sent cards and flowers to Mom and was so sweet to call and check on her from time to time. I think of "the girls" often and miss you all, please drop us a line or come see us anytime! With Love, Amy Bailey Daughter of Christie Blevins Torbett
Comments: I'm shocked and saddened to learn of Larry's death. I have seen sons named after their grandfathers called junior before, perhaps that is the case. I assume he must have had diabetes since that is where the family suggested donations be made. He was a really sweet guy, with a sly sense of humor.
Comments: I understood that if you had the exact name as someone besides your father you would be a II (second). Just as an exact name of a junior would be III (the third or trey). Probably a typo.
Comments: SNL-That is what I was thinking - maybe he was named after an Uncle or someone like that. You never know. It is a shock.
Comments: Perhaps Larry wasn't named after his Dad... maybe he was named the exact same name of his uncle or grandfather?? Or it is yet another mistake from our wonderful DMN obit section! We all know Debbie was NOT born in 1914 either! Wasn't it George Forman who named all 5 or 6 his sons the same name... George!! Now that is weird!
Comments: I saw Larry's obit this morning too....I was wondering the exact same thing about the "Jr." thing. A long time ago, in not so modern days, people would often name their sons the same name - the first one would be "Sr.", the next one "Jr."....does anyone know if Larry lost a brother who might have been Larry Sr? ![]() Sandy Joe.....that's cute!! ![]() ![]()
Comments: Not good reading again this morning. I didn't know Larry well but I understand he was always a pretty good guy. He lived across the street from Eddie & Barbara Arnold early in their marriages. (how do you get a "Jr." if there's no senior?...Jack, I guess the anwser is, in America you can do whatever the !@#!@ you want to...ain't it great).
Comments: I too am shocked...McGee called me from his weekly golf game to share the news. And Jack...I don't know how anyone can be a Jr. without the exact same name...except there could be a mistake on the obit...it does happen.
Comments: Sad to hear about Larry. After reading the obit I'm confused. I know that doesn't surprise most of you. How can Larry be a Jr. if his dad's name wasn't Larry Paul??
Comments: As I read the Dallas Morning News obits this morning I saw yet another '66 classmates listed! Larry Reid passed away Monday, July 7th!! He had signed up for the reunion but did not show up. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Bonita, and his family. I've attached the obit to link below. http://www.legacy.com/DallasMorningNews/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStoryPrint&PersonID=113080558
Comments: Ms. Toni, you must have a Female version of the Rainbird Controller. The Male unit only runs one cycle, and I'm sure you're not satisfied. You can e-mail Bovie at botoxkid@speedo/viag/tx.housecalls.com
Comments: Cheezehead, powerful video my friend. I had a 14 hr. day of heat, dirt, boulders, and the Melissa landfill. After viewing that, God Bless all those soldiers and their families. |
