I wonder if they're hiring at the DMN....I think I might apply for job working on obits!  Just how dumb are those people?  Of course, they only have what information they are given by the families but you'd think that if a name had a "Jr." in it and there was no mention of a "Sr." in the obit...someone should ask a question...where to they find their employees anyway??  Just goes to show that the quality of the newspaper isn't what it used to me...almost an after-thought when compared to the internet!  I'll politely step off my soapbox now....

How nice it was to hear from Larry's family to help everyone understand the mess made by the newspaper.

Ms. Bailey....got your call...thanks for your kindness....you're a real gem and so is Alyssa!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHORTCAKE!!! Not everyone knows that Karen Reynolds Louton is my evil twin sister, mainly because I was born 11 days later (it was a tough delivery) and as the "good" twin, I want to wish her the most wonderful birthday ever (but don't forget you are older than me). 60 looks great on you. Be nice to Cubby.

SNL...I read the story and it was pretty well written. So I sent the reporter an e-mail stating that again his son's name was left out...the guy has no clue that Larry was married before.

Sounds like the 2nd does not like the first and does not acknowledge his existence...not fair and to bad as the kid will forever carry his legacy with his name.

Is today our little munchkins birthday?  Looked for a Strawberry Shortcake doll, but no luck, I think a Chatty Cathy would be more appropriate.  If it is your BD, I hope you have a great one.  Tell Cubby that he needs to do something real special for you.

Betty, thank you for setting all straight.  Larry, Jr always looked just like his dad.  I remember when you would get on to him during choir the you would call him Larry Paul.  My prayers are with you all.

I visited tonight to see if Larry Reid's friends received the information about his death. So much confusion for all of us after reading the obit. Larry and I were married shortly after high school. He was indeed a Sr., and our son is Larry Reid, Jr. We're not even sure why my son was left off the survivor list, but apparently these mistakes are common. Larry Jr. looks exactly like his father, and is also in law enforcement here in East Texas. We will be attending the memorial service on Saturday at the Oaks Fellowship Church in Red Oak. I think they did give the correct information on the service. It was good to read your comments about Larry. My son is grieving in his usual quiet manner. Please keep him in your prayers.

With love,
Betty
