Comments: Karen MOG, couldn't we just root for JD to get back to half or maybe 3/4 bore?? LOL Get well JD, you got stuff to do!!
Comments: Jimmie & I are at the "Quest for the West" art show and today is the first time in a couple of days I have had a computer to use. Thank you all for the birthday wishes!! Now that I'm two days into being 60 it doesn't seem so bad!! Just have to say this place is great. I'd never thought of Indianapolis as a destination, but it is a wonderful one. Today, we got to go to the Speedway and it was awsome!! We had brunch in the "Pagoda" center of the speedway, owners box. Too bad there wasn't a race!!! Hope to see everyone again in October.
Comments: Happy Birthday Carolyn Evans, you wild woman you! It would be marvelous to see you again at our next mini. Please come. JD, I'm so sorry to hear that you have not been well. You have my prayers and doubtlessly all your classmates to be back full bore asap. You're the best! Sandra, your Courtney and her group also have my prayers for a very successfull trip and a safe return with "mission accomplished". ![]() Alas, it is my great disappointment to report that I won't be able to join the girls at the luncheon on Saturday. There just was no one to cover for me at work this time. Sorry girls, but please give my apologies to Miguel (sigh).
Comments: Don L - - Apparently you've been collaborating with Shortcake regarding breakfast. But ya'll have it all wrong! Happy B-day today Carolyn Evans!!! We miss you on the GB!
Comments: Please accept my apologies for not keeping up and offering my congrats on anniversaries and BD's. I have had some health issues that we are dealing with and have been extremely busy in trying to make our 1966 Class Military Website perfect...so for all those events I missed...I hope all had great days and congrats...you all deserve to have the best.
Comments: As I go through and expand our 1966 Class Military Website, I need every Veterans assistance. As we all know, the military uses acronyms to explain the units we served in, the battalions, regiments and so forth. I'm pretty good at getting them completely filled out so others not familiar with the acronyms can better understand your units etc. However, some are still incomplete...some were never given to Don Lincoln and I desperately need everyone to review their own site to see if we have the info correct and or give us what might be missing. Please do this...it is important to make sure that everyone's info is correct and I or Don did not make a mistake. Also, please understand...everyone who served in the Military Services has the right to be on this site...this is not necessarily a Vietnam Site as it is a site that depicted our class and the times we served...which define our era in the service of our country. No one's service is more and or less important to the site...we all had jobs to do and we did them to the best of our abilities. For those who did not serve in combat...I personally am pleased to see that you escaped the turmoil...and be happy that you did. But not having any combat service does not make you any less important...we are all the same. And to answer my friend in California Mr. Nance...one of our esteemed historians, along with Mr. Dagley, Rick Watts is correct. The Combat V on my Bronze Star is for what the military distinguishes as sightly different than a regular citation. The hyper links to all of our citations are on the blink...but should be corrected soon and you will then have an opportunity to see the difference as you read each one. I will advise all that we (Don & I) believe there are more Citations, of Bronze Stars or higher in this class...we have just not been able to get the person to respond...but are asking friends to help us and hope we can add the appropriate people to the honor locations in the future. There is also hope that we will be able to display everyone's ribbons as well...but will obviously need much more information to do this...so if you receive a call from me in the middle of the night...just please understand that I am working on the site and need your assistance...you can shoot me later. Also, I are going to change the other SOC class information to look and read more like ours...so pictures will be available for them as well. If you have not seen this area...it is a special Hyper Link in the Wall of Honor Section as the other classes members were all Killed in Action and deserve this special location. If anyone has any questions...or wishes to expand and or correct their data...please contact either me and or Don Lincoln as Don was the first to gather the data and he continues to be a major contributor to the information we are adding and updating almost every day. Thanks to all who have provided their info...but more importantly for their service to our country...you are all special men in your own right. Freedom is not free...and all of us contributed to maintaining our Freedom. May God Bless all of you.
Comments: Sandy McM - Best wishes to Courtney, as she leaves on an important mission abroad & prayers for her safe return, as well as her team. Mike D - Glad that old 'ticker' held out til you could get back to God's Country - welcome home & please be there on 10/25 (pending SNL's confirmation)! SNL - Jack forgot to ask about the 220V outlet for the hyper-blower - better alternative than the fire hose for 'sweeping' the place clean. Linda P - I wouldn't say the Maine Coon gals have quite taken over yet. But, I heard our Sheltie barking earlier this evening & found him in Kathy's office - trying to get past the larger of the 2 cats, lying across the doorway. Pool Guy, Cable Guy & Cap'n Jack - I'll be heading up your way tomorrow & will be visiting an elderly family friend in Hurst during the afternoon. Will hook up with you guys to terrorize the ball park or whatever biker joint y'all decide will have us. Also, we'll need to save back enuf bail $$$ to join the gals for lunch on Sat., plus the house-warming breakfast at SNL's on Sun. And, don't forget - no earlier than 5:00 a.m. - pass the word. ![]()
Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Carolyn Evans, for 9/5 (a coupla hrs early)! I’ll be in Dallas tomorrow with other SOC ’66 guys, so I’d better send this tonight. Hope you have a great day & that we’ll see you sometime at one of our minis!
Comments: Please keep Courtney and the team of e3 Partners Ministry in your prayers. She left at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. I ask that you pray for her health while she is gone. I also ask that you pray for the people of Kitgum, Uganda that their heart will be open and they will be receptive to the Word. There will be many people to come to Christ on this mission, they are there to disciple the ones that have already accepted Christ. It's hard to believe but many of the pastors in Uganda do not have a Bible. Thank you, love to all.
Comments: Hey, Sandy Lynn, here's a fun idea: Tell all your classmates to show up on Oct. 25th at the Double Tree and bring a ski mask. Spend 2 or 3 hours getting tanked up, then stagger next door to the OMNI Hotel, don your ski masks, and ransack the Class of '63's 45th Reunion! You didn't hear that from me.
Comments: I am glad to hear that Eddie T. is doing better. I haven't seen him since we were in school. I hope he will come to a get-together. Would be great seeing him again.
Comments: Mike so glad to see you are back Deep in the Heart of good ol' TEXAS!! Hawkins - - You must be related to Karnack!!! ![]()
Comments: That's wonderful news about Eddy!
Comments: GOOD NEWS! I got an email from Ed Tankursley through classmates. He said he is doing MUCH BETTER. I told him to come on over here and join in, so maybe we will be hearing from him in person soon. I'd bet that SNL is planning a get together, at least in the back of her mind, amid the moving, remodeling and working. If it follows the "normal" pattern, I'd guess it will be in Oct. Probably not the 11th....that's Texas-OU weekend. I'm sure she will let us know as soon as she can work all the details out.
Comments: Hey Hawkins, I wondered when you would show up. Yes we moved back to Houston mid-July and we live in the Katy side of town. I had a guy make me one of "Those deals I could not refuse" type offers so we came home. I brought 3 of the horses with me as it was hard to give up the country! When are we due to get together again as I want to try and make this one for sure? |
