Well Dunn, you dog, should we take it from your post that you are back living in Houston??  Did you sell the place in MO or holding on to it for retirement? What part of Houston?

Richard, The V device is added to the Bronze Star Medal to honor an act of valor, not all Bronze Star Medal recipients receive the Bronze V.
JD will have to tell what he did to get the V.

Mike, so good to hear that your son-in-law is fully recovered and obviously tougher than ever if he is a D.I. God bless him and all our military.

Happy Belated Birthday to Karen PH. Hope it was fun.

Hey guys did a great job on the Veterans site.  I have a new found respect for all the Military as my son-in-law as I reported some time ago took a very serious hit in Iraq, and we almost lost him.  He is fully recovered now, better, stronger and uglier (i am sorry to say) and has been stationed in San Diego as a Marine Drill Instructor.  God would I hate to be a new recruit under him.

Keep up the good work and SNL, we just had our kitchen done after our recent move so I can relate to the clutter and dirt,  Good Lock!

Nice Vet site folks. JD, regarding your well-deserved Bronze Star....what's the Combat V notation mean...I'm not familiar with it.

To Don and J.D. -- the veterans' website is wonderful and very moving.  I especially appreciated reading the statistics (some surprising) you provided, and reading the names of our fellow classmates that served.  The website looks like it was a labor of love for you.

Don -- How are those maine coon cats doing?  Have they taken over your house yet?  Our new dog, Henry VIII, is a hoot, such a personality.  He and our border collie are best friends. The only thing negative about him is that he is a digger (long legs).  I have bricks all up and down our wood fence.

Yes Dennis, I see that light emerging in the distant end of the tunnel.   It will definitely have a better kitchen than what it was when we bought it!  We've purchased all new KitchenAid appliances, except for the Wolfe cooktop, newly painted cabinets and Granite counter tops!  I had a vision of a beautiful gourmet kitchen and it is slowly coming together.  Now . . .  I hope my cooking skills can live up to that "gourmet" kitchen!!!

Very funny Jack!  After 3 visits by the pho guy & two visits by the Internet guy...  I think our phos & internet are working!!

Catch ya'll later, I gotta go stir up some new business!!

SNL, I'm afraid that you are not up on the latest doings in the kitchen. The plastic and blue tape are permanent. They are spraying the clear coat finish on the whole thing.  This is the newest idea in clean up. After cooking you just bring in a fire hose and wash the place down. (It can also be used in case of kitchen fires with little water damage) The floor drain is below the island which has vents in the bottom for the water to flow through.  Did you have the vacuum in the wall system installed too or are you going with the little robot constantly wandering around??  Which room are you giving to the telephone guy to move into??

Dear J.D.

Thank you for clarifying what you meant by "Obama - Rains".

I thought perhaps you meant to say "Obama Reigns" and had a little typo.

[memo to self: retract earlier compliment to JD on his veteran site]

Sandy you and Don hang in there light is at the end of this tunnel. It does sound like you are making some progress and your kitchen will return to you better than when you sent it off for updating. I know all we can do is offer words of encouragement but may your days ahead be brighter and better as they gracefully pass.

Hey Ms McMakin - - Maybe the person finding your Amer Exp card will spend less than you!    I'll pay for us with my MC and then when they send us those free offers to transfer the balance we can transfer it back and come out ahead!!!   Or something like that . . . !!!

Do hope you & Linda can make it since I made this one in Oak Cliff so it would be closer to our southern friends!

Fall has arrived in Dallas ... er, Richardson.   We had 76 degrees at 5:30pm!!!  Wish we'd had some of that the last 3 or 4 wkends while we were moving!! They spent 2 days spray painting our cabinets in the kitchen inside a tent of plastic.  Everything is sealed off, floor, ceiling, walls, etc.  Can't wait for them to remove all that blue tape & plastic so we can see it.  By late next wk I may be able to have all my new appliances installed.  Yippee!!!!!

Dear Mr. Southworth...it sounded like you were in love with the Obama Express...I was using a metaphor to explain that he spews crap from his mouth and it "rains" on all of us!

No, I really did.  I lost it in the house Saturday or Sunday when I was paying the bill on the Internet.    I do amuse myself, I'm surprised that I haven't had imaginary friends
