OK Jack I give.   I will buy dinner.  Just pick out a good steak house.  Just got a notification from Continental airlines and my flight home tomorrow has been canceled and it is rumored that Houston Intercontinental could be 100% down by early afternoon tomorrow.  Just another happy weekend stranded on the road in a Doubletree Hotel.

All back home in Houston---Be safe!

Well, I've been on the road since Monday in NC and VA and just looked back on the GB...what a group we have to ladies who crash cars...one class friend who didn't have one like me...but I had my tractor...ask Sally Taylor...

RN...I'll take whatever pic's you want to send...I too had a TR4 1963 that I bought after HS...my grandmother sold it for 300.00 cause she thought I was going to die in Vietnam...sold my 59 Chevy as well...Am planning to purchase another TR...63,64, or a 65 next year...going back to my childhood.

And to answer all your questions about steering problems like Toni and KMG...BOOBS...they get in the way of trying to turn a car with a tight steering mechanism...so I presume that both Toni and KMG had BOOB's that were bigger than normal for their ages...I can't remember...and would never assume to presume!!!

9-11-will remain in our hearts and minds...we should never forget...this was a completely unprovoked attack on our soil...If they need me to help fight the war...although much slower today at my age...I'd go today...no one screws with my country, flag, citizens and friends...May God Bless all who lost their lives and all who continue to serve...we are the greatest country in the world...and one more note...we have never invaded any country without being provoked and never to own and totally control like many other countries around the world!

Enough said..everyone have a great day.

Mike, I have been going over it and the way I remember it, YOU were the one who was always a little short when the check came. Either that or you were in the bathroom!
Toni, I think Mr Fowler ALWAYS thought the girls drove better. He certainly kept his eyes on them. I'm sure he was just checking the proper placement of their hands and making sure they were not riding the brake. He seemed to never take his eyes away. Whereas he went to sleep when I drove. Woke up whenever we stopped to drop somebody off.
I'll give y'all credit for getting started and changing gears though. Those hydraulic clutches were tricky to master.

JWT, catch all that wind and rain and try your best to keep it on your side on town and be safe at the same time.  I am on the NW side and we are getting ready also.  Or should I say my wife is getting ready as I am in Pittsburgh PA watching the radar by the minute to see if I am even going to be able to get home friday evening.  The radar does not look good and our Houston office is closing at noon tomorrow.

Please be safe and stay afloat!

I remember getting a call from John asking me to turn on the tv in our conference room...we both thought there was only a fire atop one of the buildings of the World Trade Center and we were discussing how in the world firefighters could get that high up and, then to our surprise, we watched the second plane drive into the second building.  We were absolutely shocked and horrified, and we both said at the same time - this is a terrorist act.   Looking back, my employer had had reservations at a NY hotel and tickets to three Broadway shows, and she fussed at A/A because they couldn't get her out of DFW to NY...go figure!  Remember to fly your flag TODAY for sure.

I heard that we should go to www.ussny.org on the radio this morning.  The commissioning of the USS New York needs more donations to ensure that it will be ready by November '09.

John Southworth, I saved that site as Bruce enjoys keeping up with current hurricane info.  Thanks!

May all of our former classmates in the Houston area be wise, and as SNL says be safe, as you are in our prayers.

September 11 was a beautiful morning in East Texas as I remember driving down a country road to a NG pumping station, the radio had just announced the first plane hitting one of the towers. As I entered the office of my customer everyone had surrounded the TV in the lobby area when the second plane hit, we were in disbelief of what we had just witnessed. This morning as I reflect back on that day it takes me back to 1963 I believe it was November and Earnest Camp, Ronnie Craft, and myself had cut class to be in downtown Dallas to see President Kennedy. It brings a tear to my eye to know that we live with such evil, and it is so important that remain steadfast as we stand shoulder to shoulder against such evil.

Jerry, Annette, Mike, JS and all our friends who live in and around the Houston area - - Get your life vests and boats ready and be safe!!!  All of Don's family also lives in Hstn & a few cities S. of Hstn.

Of course today, September 11, we all look back and remember very clearly where we were this mrng 7 yrs ago!!!  I was at Love Field waiting to get on a plane headed to Tulsa!!!  Never got on the plane and spent about an hour at the airport, along with hundreds of others, just staring at the TV in disbelief and trying to figure out what was happening!!!   Our '66 HOME pg gives tribute!

Haven't posted in a while, but I do check the GB every day or so to keep tabs on what is happening.  It looks like we will be having a busy day battening down the hatches due to the visit from one of Mother Nature's naughty children early Saturday morning.  Joyce and I are on the SW side of Houston and unfortunately for us it appears that Ike may come ashore close to Freeport which is the closest Gulf side area to where we live.  Hopefully, the storm willnot cause too many problems.  I will let you know more after Saturday(assun=ming we have power at that time).  Check woth you later.

We just took Kathy's mom back to Louisiana last week, after she rode-out 'Gustav' with us.  Now, she wants to know if we want to come over & ride this one out with her.

Hmm - maybe we need a 'Square Table' discussion at D&B's over a few cold ones to help decide.

Memo To Toni:

Here is a handy little site we use down here to track Hurricane Ike and others:

http://www.stormpulse.com/

I hope we get some much needed rain from it and nothing more. I hear the Smileys are safely tucked away in the far northwest - checking out a KFS (Kentucky Fried Salmon) franchise to bring back to Texas.
