I didn't think I'd be the only one up watching 'Da Boys' perform tonight.  In typical fashion, they made us jump out of our seats with dazzling plays early on & then, began to rack up penalties & offer the game back - 7 lead changes in the score.

I was 'puckering' so hard that I had to dig out parts of the seat cushion all evening.  But, in the end, the Eagles weren't able to put it away & time ran out - they may have been mocking us - ?

I should be able to get to sleep in about 2 hrs, once my blood pressure returns to Earth - helluva 'barn burner'!

What a game!!!!!  I'm tired and I wasn't even playing!  Great defensive plays by Ware and a really good game.   Cowboys 41  Eagles 37

Good to hear that Little a and Sid are OK too.

Well Dennis, you know what the man said, "It's hard to be humble"!!

I just heard from Annette a little bit ago and she said they rode the storm out in their master bathroom!  She said they just got tv service back today and their electricity was turned back on yesterday evening.  Few places were open for business but she and Sid did manage to find a pastry shop to have breakfast this morning. They happened to sit near two Homeland Security officers from Dallas who told them that it is really terrible in the area.  She jokingly admitted to having severe coffee withdrawal, and she said that people were in good spirts.   I was so glad to finally hear from her.

Jack I will send out an email blast to all the neighbors in Carrollton to avoid the courthouse, and not to even consider driving by out of curiosity

I just got a text from my daughter in Humble that it is crazy down there.

Thanks, Pool Guy, but I'd do better going with Botox Bovie. I know how to use a hammer. Can't do that either though. The city of Carrollton has requested my presence at the court building. I guess one of the judges called in sick and they need me to stand in for him. Anybody want to appear before me??
DWF, I have you on a SPECIAL ring. It is The Eyes Of Texas. You know I always hear that, stand up and answer the call!!
Admit it, you were having too much fun with your date to even think of us!!!!!

If your phone is like mine, it may be 2-3 days before the voice mail kicks in. If you had answered when i called, you could have heard it live. You may need to put me on a special ring tone so you will know its me.

Happy Jack, the sound was as though I was sitting next to them at the show. Guess you bought the wrong dinner last Friday night. Botox Boy is going to East Texas to repair a storm damaged house tomorrow. Join us on the golf course, if your schedule allows.

Congrats, Ronnie. If being father of the groom freaked you out, you'd better lock yourself in a room and slide signed checks under the door when your girl gets married.

Anybody get a phone call from Don or Barbara when they were at the Eagles concert? Man, what a treat. Getting to listen live to a concert like that!  Me neither, but it would have been great. Sort of like we had gone too.  I've heard of people calling their friends during a concert so they could enjoy too.  I started to call Don EARLY the next morning and see if he lost my phone number, but Glynda kept hitting me with a pillow, shouting "It's the middle of the night, hang up the phone and go to sleep".

Congrats on that one Ronney...new adventures begin. I hope all you storm weary folks are doing well; it sure looks bad on the news.

JD, I've always found it difficult to offend KMG.  She typically takes the positive view of wise-cracking...nothing too serious.  Of course, the time I compared her to a cross-dresser I saw in San Diego pushed the limits, she eventually came around.(I thought they both looked like Kim Novac).

Southworth...any thoughts on Leyman & Merrill collapsing?..one save, one not.

I am now an official father-in-law. My son's wedding went fine, even with the kinks placed upon our plans because of the hurricane. My daughter and her boyfriend had to make a last minute rush to the Houston area during the night on Thursday, to rescue her boyfriend's cousin. The ride he had to escape the storm went off and left him. We are glad he ended up coming to the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. We had fun meeting him. He was a very nice and appreciative young man. We were more happy that he got out of Ike's path and was safe with us in Abilene.

I will send some pictures to you soon, SNL.

KMG - best concert ever. Although Don didn't mention you by name, we knew he was talking about you.

It was cloudy & windy here, but that’s it – not even a single drop of rain.  Glad the reports so far indicate our coastal classmates are doing well.

My mother-in-law in LA just got power back on at her house, after spending the last 48 hrs or so at Kathy's brothers house, running on generators.  They're all in Calcasieu Parish, just north of I-10.  My cousin in Spring said they have some cleaning up to do, but nothing in the way of major damage.

I mowed & trimmed up with the weed eater all afternoon yesterday – got tired, hot & a little sunburned – nothing else … unless we count the few cold beers.
