Comments: Toni - Since moving into the house we've had no working sink downstairs except out in the garage! We have to go upstairs to shower & get ready each day. We're using the Jack & Jill bath. So I turned the guest bath into a mini coffee bar!  Any port in a storm!! But all that is about to change. As of yesterday all our appliances are installed & Don said he will have my faucet hooked up & my kitchen sink working by this weekend. Yea!!!!!!! I've been going either out in the garage where there's a big sink & hot/cold water or running upstairs to the coffee bar to wash the cereal bowls & silverware. Today is a beautiful day, the sun is shinning and it's not 100 degrees, all my phones & DSL are working and there is no one in the house but me!!! Thank you Lord for this day!!  
Comments: JD- Nice to see you are up to posting & doing better. It's hard to keep an ornery Cheesehead down.  I've looked t all the photo pgs and yes, Jack Sanders looks very good! It's nice with all the colorful commendations and then everything listed very clearly. But what happened to Gary Dagley's pg?? I noticed it is the only one with lines all thru it & I think that is his Jr photo rather than his Sr. Is that payback for Cold Cash winning money from you???   Seriously, Sanders pg is a great format and looks very nice!

Sandy is right--why can't these people (those who want housing) find affordable housing. As the numbers will tell you, many want housing. Hope you are all well and housed. My parents, sister, niece are Galveston residents. Luckily, they can afford temporary housing-- but with the recent hurricanes, this too adds to the numbers. I don't know what your churches do but mine has a honeless shelter that tries to find housing and jobs for the homeless. They do need our help--and maybe some help from a compassionate government also!

Have been looking all over the US...Dennis Bishop has offered to help me with any questions...as all know...he knows more about cars like this than anyone I know. I would like every veteran, or anyone else who might be interested...to please go to our Veterans Website. Please click ARMY...then go down to Jack Sanders. Look at his page. I am planning to do the same for all veterans...so please go look at your DD214's and send me and Don a list of your medals and ribbons so I can do the same for all. This will take some time...so the sooner the better. Also...please advise on your thoughts...does the page look good for Jack...and eventually for you. Thanks everyone...
Comments: Sam, so sorry to hear about Sarah's mom. She, you and the family are in our prayers. Rick, good to see you back. You are living your life well and doing a good job. Sandy Mc, there are plenty of places for those on the street to go and get help. Those who remain out there are because they CHOSE to do so. Many say they don't want to live by the rules. Life is all about choices. Most everyone is willing to help those who are down and trying to get back up, but those who get down and decide it is an OK way of life, don't want to be "helped". They just want someone to fund their lifestyle. SNL, we feel your pain!

JD, that's good news, it's all over and you can relax. Sam and Sarah, You are in my prayers JD, after HS. I bought a 1959 MGA roadster, that was a sporty little car. I sold it and bought a 1963 Austin Healey 3000. put it in storage while I was in the Army and drove it after I got out. In 1969 I bought a wrecked '65 Triumph TR3 but never got to drive it. I liked my '64 Avanti the best drove it 10 years before selling it. I had a '57 chevy convertible, paid $7500. sold it 3 weeks later for $11,000. that was a head turner and the only car I sold for a profit.

Take me off your list, please, unless that's the will I don't want to be haunted by anyone.Driving home from my son's tonight I saw a homeless man bedded down for the night on a concrete "bus" bench. His bicycle tied to be bus pole with his plastic bags tied to his handle bars. You know, we complaint every day about little things, things that really don't matter, then I see someone like him and think how lucky I (we) are. I can't believe with all the taxes we pay that there are homeless people on the street. Why here in America. We're taking care of everyone but our own. There is something wrong with this picture. Now I will step down from by soap box.

Comments: All, Sarah's mom passed away at 2:00 a.m. this morning in Canton, Tx. Her funeral will be at the Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Mesquite Saturday at 3:00. We covet your prayers for Sarah and the family at this time. God bless you our friends, Sam and Sarah
Comments: i know how it is. a few years ago i got diagnosed with arterial fibrillation. the doc had to stop my heart then restart it. it stayed for 8 months then went haywire again. so now have to take meds everyday to control it. just have to be careful of what other meds i take. losing 100 pounds in the last year didn't help tho. |
