H a p p y  B i t h d a y wishes go out to Ronney McKee, today, 11/1! Great timing - I guess this means you’ll be buying everyone drinks at the mini later today, eh?  Maybe we’ll feel generous instead & buy you a Sprite or some ice tea – surely, Traci can fix you up.  Best wishes & hope to see you there!

Jack - Believe it or not... I put your gift in the box last night!  I know for the last 4 or 5 months my brain has been in overdrive & I keep forgetting things,  but I'm turning the corner.  I found it when I dug out the name badges!!  I promise, I didn't use anything in the kit!

Dale - Great pic of you & the fish!

Just this week I've received Grandone pics from two first-time senders!  Louis Langford sent his (they're posted now) and Donna Hutchins Miles sent hers.  We get to see new Grandone faces... welcome aboard Louis & Donna!

But John I can't afford $150,000 for the business suit to go with the mask.
I'll stick with Chaney

John, Thank you soOOOOOOOOOO much for the compliment. I knew you really were on our side, and this proves it by posting and promoting Our Ms. Sarah Palin.

Hey, Rick

I've found an affordable Halloween costume for you. It's scarier than Frankenstein ... and creepier than Cheney. Just don't wear it in Dennis Simmons' neighborhood - he'll think you're copying him:

Wish I could be there Jack...I know you will all have great fun.  By the way Jack, you remember I talked about the Jack Lalane Power Juicer....Mary Ann used it to make up a batch of grapefruit martinis....there's more to life than pumping Vit. C into your system.

Richard, it is truly rare that anyone complains about me being quiet. And you have no room to talk about not posting. Your postings have become as rare as rain in the summer in Texas.
Wish you were going to be here tomorrow. I'd like to buy a bottle of wine (maybe of your choice) or introduce you to some fine sipping whiskey and have a long talk with you. I'd like to hear what's got you so mad at the President. It is a discussion that has to be in person not on line or on the GB. I need to see your expressions while we talk.
Hope to see EVERYONE else tomorrow at the Double Tree!

Jack, I've been wondering what'd it take to stir you up...you've been too quiet lately.  I'll stay off politics from now on....see if I can find another critter in my backyard to talk about

Richard, Looks like you will need to move back to Dallas area. Parkland Hospital will care for you no matter what. Even though it is paid for by Dallas County taxpayers, no matter where you are from, if you show up they will treat you. Ads proclaim that care is second to none. Word to the wise, if you need to go call 911. Those arriving with paramedics go right in. If you provide your own transportation you may wait up to 20 hours to be treated.
SNL: would you be so kind as to put in your party box the gift I received from John but left behind at our last gathering? Thank you for picking up after me. I had to leave early and was running late and forgot it. Thanks!!

Fishing Report:

Yesterday I got to go on a fishing expedition with Capt. Smiley aboard the good ship "King Fish" (in deference to Amos 'n Andy). The trip was almost called off because the morning temperature was colder than Sandy McMakin (chittlins & watermelons, indeed?).

But the day turned out to be beautiful, the lake was calm, and the fish were as elusive as Sarah Palin in a Katie Couric interview.

Once we got to the middle of Lake Conroe, it became obvious that Capt. Dale's true intent was a political ploy to throw me overboard and enhance his candidate's chances by one vote. He reconsidered after he learned that I'd already voted last Monday.

Dale won tournament prizes for The First Fish Caught, Most Fish Caught, and Most Unusual Catch (an ancient fish net that fought like a tarpon). I was awarded a Certificate of Effort for hooking the first mullet before we even got out of the driveway [managed to hook myself in the thumb while loading my rod in the boat].

Buddy Capps, eat your heart out:

THANK YOU RW.  I continue to be amazed that almost everyone is in favor of change, but they will not vote out the very people who prevent change and are responsible for keeping the status quo. The only real power the President has is the veto. Congress makes the laws and controls the budget. This is one of the many reasons we need term limits for congress. The whole system is based on seniority. The longer you stay, the more power you have. The more power, the more you can "do" for your area. Remind me tomorrow to tell you about one of my trips to Peabody, MA. I advocate one 6 year term for the president, two 6 year terms for senators and 4 two year terms for representatives. What the country needs is a good dose of throw the bums out!
Yes Sally, we now have the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system. These folks all managed to get to the pick up points with no trouble too.
