Comments: Well, I'm feeling like a slacker today after reading this guy's story: http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/Larry_Macon__The_Marathon_Maniac.html By the way, Larry Macon is from the Class of '63. He was one of the top 3 grads, won a scholarship to Yale, then went on to become a prominent San Antonio lawyer. He has a sister in your class. I hate him.

Comments: To Robert Norman -- Ada & Joe Wingate is our own Ada Ann Henrie and her husband, Joe. Gary Dagley -- Happy late birthday. Hope it was a great one. I'll be looking for you and RW around Duncanville. Sandy McGee -- you're in trouble if you cannot lift the toilet seat, but in MORE trouble if you can't lower it. You and Bovie make a cute couple. I've been off the GB since Wednesday. Drove to the great metropolis of Lubbock, Texas, Thursday, with my husband, my daughter and her husband who was getting his master's degree. When we sat down in the Spirit Arena for the event to begin, I opened the program and was reading it and to my surprise, the commencement speaker was listed as The Honorable John McCain and below his name United States Senator. You would have thought some rock star was in the room. When the faculty and guests filed into the room, there he was. It was announced that Senator McCain was giving his first speech in public since his concession speech, and the commencement speech was great, very encouraging and positive. When he was introduced, he received a rousing round of applause and a standing ovation. My husband took lots of pictures of him, oh, and then I remembered my son-in-law.Ha! It's the first time I've stayed 2 nights in Lubbock and if it weren't for Texas Tech, that city would be a ghost town. But I did love the lack of traffic in town and not having to wait for a seat in a restaurant.
Comments: I hope every one enjoys the holidays. Jolae and i got a christmas card from someone I am not sure of . So I will ask here if anyone knows them. Sorry about my old memory. Next birthday I will no longer be disabled, I will be retired at the age of 62. go figure. ok the name now. and if you do know them email me , otay ? Ada and Joe Wingate from NH
Comments: If he can't lift a toilet seat then he's not in such good shape. Get well soon, McGee.
Comments: Thank goodness McGee's procedure was a success. You just can't keep an ornery guy down for long. I'm sure Bovie will do a great job covering for him while he rests up and gets back to full strength.
Comments: Memo To Richard Nance: I know you're thinking about cheapin' your way out this Christmas, but you might want to review the dangers of this approach at: http://creativity-online.com/work/view?seed=5e32d548 I am on my way out the door right now to return Dru's George Foreman Grill ...
Comments: Just spoke with Sandy Joe, the Pool Guy. He went in and had an angioplasty (SP) yesterday. He had about a 75 % blockage so they put in a stint. Kept him over night and let him go home this morning. He said it hurts and is sore, but he is fine. Was told not to do any heavy lifting. Bovie is going to work with him this week. Sandy said he thought it would be funny taking Bovie to the bathroom with him. I heard SueSue in the background laughing real hard. But I didn't understand any of that.
Comments: Don't even ask how that happened, cause I don't know ![]() ![]() If any of you ladies or gentlemen want to treat your special one to a great breakfast during the holidays try the Organic "Batter Blaster" it's great ![]() ![]() Got it a Tom Thumb

Comments: SOCites in the News (sort of) ... Do any of you ever watch that sappy tv program called "Extreme Home Makeover"? Well, a story is developing on the Class of '62 guestbook regarding my old Cub Scout buddy Jimmy Powell (pictured a few days ago in that scout photo - 2nd from right). This very week the EHM crew is building a home in Keller, TX, for a needy family. Jimmy P. and his wife Karen own a lighting fixture store in Ft. Worth and are providing all the lighting for the home. Saturday is their installation day. Next Monday is the "Driver, Move That Bus" big reveal day. Here is a screen capture from the '62 Guestbook with Jimmy's enlightening comments on the project: http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/62guestbook.jpg I looked for a more recent pic of Jimmy. Here he is pictured in the center, me on the left, and Bobby Stephens at right: http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/2scouts.jpg Try to imagine him with shorter sideburns, sans moustache, and about 53 yrs older. |
