Comments: Fog in my Carrollton neighborhood was fairly light, but when I got out on the streets and came into Dallas it got thick. Still pretty heavy in my end of Richardson too. SUNSHINE I NEED SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!
Comments: Say, annette, I know you're glad to back in Texas, but I gotta tell ya', those San Bernadino mountains are in a blanket of snow that looks like a postcard...you must miss that. Of course, I can look at them from 50 miles away and not have to slide all over the roads, but they're really quite something to see this morning. JD, this is the second time you've mentioned a "health glitch"....take of yourself my friend.
Comments: Don Gaines will be laid to rest at Laurel Land on Saturday. Tentative time is 2:00pm. Virginia said she & the family are meeting today to finalize everything. As soon as I t/w her later today I will post the arrangements. If some of you would send a personal condolence card to Virginia, it would be nice. Don was her world and she took very good care of him. Her last name is Tadlock, not Gaines. Gee whiz --it's foggy her in east Richardson!!! Can barely see the house across the street. Jack -- how is it in your part of Richardson /Carrollton?

Comments: Mr. Nance...may I first...please thank you for visiting our 1966 Military Website...it is a wonderful feeling that our class would wonder through the many names and visit the hero's who served...including yourself. But as you have noticed...there is a glitch with Marvin Courte and Tommy Sorrell...my apologies first to the two men whose names and data should be correct. But I have had a glitch and with the health issues I have been tackling as of late...just have not had the time to make the corrections. For that I apologize to all...will get it back in order as soon as possible...but please forgive me for not having done so as of today. And finally, I say good by to Don Gaines..a very brave hero who was dealt a bad hand...but never complained. Don...you will be missed and we love you for being the good person that you were. May God hold you dear to his heart...for you are and were a great person.
Comments: Carolyn Hill, T.L.Marsalis girl, come in and join us anytime. Don't mention you knew Don Fugate or Happy Jack Hawkins. You'll get booted out before you get started.
Comments: Having known Don for many years, I can't recall a single enemy he ever had. He has been smiling all through his life, and God blessed him in later years with his sweet angel Virginia who was loyal to the end. May we all be blessed with love so true. Don is now enjoying the Reward to which he is so richly entitled. God bless him, Virginia and his family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Comments: Sorry to hear of Don's death. He had a strength and courage most of us wish we had. To embrace life, and move forward as he did was remarkable. Our prayers should go to his family, and our friends who have lost loved ones recently.
Comments: Don will be dearly missed. He has been an inspiration to so many of us...Sincerely, Bovie
Comments: Richard, you couldn't of said it any better. I first met Don at Fernwood Baptist Church he and Sarah Duniho were dating. They always insisted on all the "girl friends" sitting with them, Sandra Crowder, Dorthea Ashurt, and me.
Comments: Well I'm really sorry to read about Don. He was clearly going through a lot in the last years of his life, but what an inspirational attitude he managed to convey. One of the good guys.
Comments: I found this board recently and recognized so many names from my youth. Most may not remember me, I lived in Singing Hills on Whispering Trail across from Beverly Love, Carolyn Egner, Lee Crawford. Donny Fugate, Wayne Pennington, Cynthia Pirtle,so many lived out there. Just wanted to say hi and hope you all have a Merry Christmas. God bless Donnie and his family.
Comments: Don was such a dear sweet man. I am so glad we got to see him at the last get-together. He will be missed. Virginia was an angel to help him and be with him. Don and I are praying for Virgina and his family.
Comments: Don was an example of a very courageous man. He faced so much adversity, but always had a smile on his face. My prayers are for Virginia and his family. |
