Comments: Sandy - What a special group of people the SOC '66 class is! I almost started crying when reading about the pall bearers for Don's service. Regretfully, I can't be there tomorrow. but my heart will be with Don and all of you at the time of the service. I didn't know Don in school, but I've admired his cheerful attitude these past few years. I know he'll be missed.
Comments: The services for our dear friend and classmate, Don Gaines, are finalized. Services & visitation will be at Laurel Land in Oak Cliff off IH35. Visitation will be from 6 -8pm Fri, 12-19, and services will be at 2:00pm Sat., 12-20. Virginia asked me this afternoon if I could help her with Don's last request. Stunned, I said yes, what can I do. It seems Don told her a few weeks ago that he wanted his SOC friends to be his pall bearers. He asked her to contact Charles Moss, Leonard Reese, Jack Hawkins and Craig Johnson. He told her to see if two more would join them as he wanted it to be all SOC. I called Charles & Jack and they took it from there. In addition to those 4, Bovie Browning and Rick Watts will do the honors. You guys are wonderful and Don will be smiling knowing that his friends, Charles, Lyn, Jack, Craig, Bovie & Rick are carrying him out!! Comments: So sorry to hear about our good friend, Don, passing away. He bravely lived with the cards dealt against him. I am glad that he no longer suffers. And, my heart goes out to Virginia and his family. Goodbye, ol' buddy!! SandyMc, you mentioned Dorthea Ashurst in one of your postings. Do you know whatever became of her? I knew her from Bushman Elementary to SOC. I always remembered that she had two toes grown together. Looked like one big toe with two toe nails. haha! She was a very nice person.
Comments: Sarah and I are so sorry to hear about Don. We will be praying for his family and especially Virginia who truly performed the work of the angel by taking care of Don. Sarah and I can relate to the extremely physical and emotional challenges she faced when taking care of Don. From 1986 to 2002, my mom took care of my dad, who was a quadriplegic, by her self. There were no holidays or vacations. It was the equivalent of taking care of a 6 month old. God bless Virginia for having the heart of a loving soul.

Haven't heard from you in a long time. Headed home, long day  Wore too many hats today.      That's all the emotions I have experienced today.Michael, you have a special set of parents, but I guess you already know that.

Comments: I just wanted to stop in and say that words cannot express enough thank you's for all the love, support, kindness and generosity you have shown my family during this very difficult time. My parents are truly blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends. thank you for watching out for them and for all the joy you have brought to their their lives. Comments: Yes KMG, this Sat will be the last reg season game played in dear ol' Texas Stadium in Irving!! Oct 24, 1971 seems like only a few yrs ago, but that was when the first game was played in the "new" stadium!!! Not likely we wd hve home field advantage in the playoffs, but with these Cowboys... stranger things have happened!
Comments: Bovie or Jack, please update us when you hear something from JD. My ex-mother-in-law had that done several years ago and came through it quite well. Hopefully JD will do as well. My prayers are going his way today. Yes SNL, it was Mike who took me to the Cowboys game last Sunday night. I've got my fingers crossed that we will get the chance to see a Cowboys playoff game this year.

Comments: JD swore me to secrecy, but as Big Mouth Bovie has let the cat out of the bag................ He is having his neck artery (I cant spell carotid) roto-ruttered. He went in a while back and they didn't find any blockage in the heart area so they decided to look around elsewhere. Hey, you didn't hear it from me. Bovie did it!!!

Let's hope the same defense that has played the last two weeks will show up for the next two games & any playoff games we can garner!! I'll be routing for you KMG as well as the Cowboys!
