I think I was responding to "Don" last night...not Danny.  Initials still throw me sometimes.

Please...if you never remember else...government has yet to do much to improve the life of any single American...American's have always made the difference and the changes...government gets in the way...and I can't speak for you but I'm deeply concerned with the things Mr Hussein is going to do because most of what he has proposed has the smell of socialism, big government control, and limiting everyone's chance to move up the ladder except those where he will give them the money, rather than have people earn the money...how can you give a tax break to people who pay no taxes...to me that is welfare. Typical Liberal (Progressive)...approach.

Rod I hope things go well in the next admiration. Just hate thinking of the return of President Peanut farmer scenario with control of White House, House, and Senate. Makes me think of long gas lines, Iran Hostages, 20% interest on a house note, Negative GNP yr after yr, unemployment above 10%, and a weak military.Reagan nailed it when he said" Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem". Rod Ca's 40 billion in the red and still growing the State Government 09 is the norm for things to come. watch youre wallet comrade

my hope is that if this man can accomplish a fraction of what people think he is going to accomplish he will do ok. only problem is we still have the same lawmakers in place that we had 4 years ago. not much change there i see.

I don't know John...I'm not sure I can protect my nose the way I used to.

On a serious note, whether you voted for Obama or not, I'm still wondering if, stepping back a bit, people really appreciate what a truly unique and gifted young man this is.  What he's accomplished and presented to the world is really something.  Hopefully, his ultimate performance comes close to the image.

Don't worry, Richard. Now that our classmates' political opinions have been rendered irrelevant, we can really look forward to the next mini-reunion.

Jack, you're probably right.  There was no need for me to make that type of comment on this particular GB and risk offending you or the rest of the 23% of Americans who agree with you.

(I think that's the first time I've been threatened with bodily harm for a political view...unless we count Carol Litchford coming across the table at me in a bar in Mexico for my anti-Bush remarks....the lady can definitely initiate a throat hold....and Deryl didn't even slow her down).

That's Right! Congress could have signed a bill authorizing that the inauguration ceremonies be cancelled and that $150 million be distributed to each citizen to better our lives and give us a much needed financial boost.

Each of us has something important we could use that money for. If not, we would at least have had the option of donating our share to charity (and getting the tax deduction).

Let's see now ... there are 320 million men, women, and children here in the USA. Okay ... $150,000,000 divided by 320 million citizens ... comes out to .... uh ... 47 cents. Before postage expense.

Never mind ...

Sorry Jack, too far north to punch Mr Nance. I try very hard to stay out of California.
As for the inauguration, too bad BO didn't start doing what he said he would and use that $150 million to help his fellow Americans. That money could have been spent in a far better way that all of the pomp and .....
