there you go again Richard blame WABU for the economy and every thing wrong with the world today. 27,27,27 i repeat 27 straight Quarters of positive growth till Prince Harry and Princess Nancy now in the third year of massdistruction as majority so called leaders of House and Senate. Can't say i'm a Rep nor Dem just an American but i know we have too many crooks in office and we are doing nothing about it but reelecting them. President Obama's agenda will fail unless he weeds out the crooks and that's hard to do when he is appointing them

I think the Big O is quite remarkable.

I guess I didn't fully realize just how far to the right you guys are (nothing wrong with it, I'm just a bit more center I suppose). My support for Bush in 2000 and 2004 deteriorated to something less than hate (too strong a word really). I frankly don't get the support of this guy, although he has very little; he's led us into 2 wars lasting as long as Vietnam; killed thousands of our guys, tens of thousands wounded and we're not going win either of those wars...we're only going to walk away, or withdraw, like Vietnam. Our country's been attacked 3 times (1941, 1993 and 2001) and to say we haven't been attacked in 7 years is weak. Bush has turned several hundred radical US-hating Muslims into millions who believe Bin Laden is doing God's work because we're Goliath and Osama is David.  I can assure you Bush will go down as the worst US President of all time and just because he governed Texas for a while doesn't earn him a thing for the global damaged he's caused; poor world standing, economic collapse rivaling 1929, absurd positions on science and health, destroyed the Republican Party and Tony Blair.......my list is endless.

By the way Jack, don't apologize for throwing those comments...where's the fun in that. And I'm not trying change anyone's views either. I suspect President Obama will do well; very smart, very articulate and very inspiring.

Any thought on this JD?

Doesn't anyone like Obama? I think he is well spoken smart and he has a nice tan and his wife wore a Sargent peppers coat.

Personally, I think it is wonderful that we have an African American President!
And as far as Obama is concerned---he's a terrific person, talented, brilliant, charismatic---there's only ONE THING wrong with him---one thing---he's not a Republican!
God I miss Ronald Reagan! Now THAT was a President!

That should have read:

Carol:                           AMEN!!!!

Susan: I feel as you and the others have said about his agenda. I am very much against those.

I HOPE he does well for America.

While I have dire fears about the next four years - and while my personal belief is that the current holder of the highest office in our land is a fraud - I will do my best (?) to respect him simply because he holds that office (a courtesy that far too many - including that current office hoilder - failed to extend to President Bush).  However, I am so very tired of being told that we were in The Depths of Darkness before Barack Obama appeared to lead us out of The Wilderness!  As is the case with all individuals and all groups, our country has been and will continue to be imperfect - but we are the BEST that THIS world has to offer!  Can I get an AMEN?!?

One last thought - While nothing memorable came out of Barack Obama's mouth yesterday, there was one "speech" given that will - unfortunately - stick with me forever.  (Now please excuse me.  It is almost 3:00 and I have not asked a Black to get back or told a Brown to sit down.  Darn my tendency to procrastinate!)

Love you ALL!

Jack,SNL etc., etc - I am definitely going to have to agree with you guys on this one!  While I do wish him luck some of what he is proposing scares me for more reasons then one   and, no it is not because he is a democrat.

Susan - I fully agree with you.  I too hope Obama does well, but if doing well means he accomplishes all his goals... then NO, I hope he falls flat on his face!  His goals are NOT mine and if he accomplishes them we will all be much worse off than we ever thought at the beginning of this year!!

The only ones that will be better off are those who are on welfare, receiving free food, not working or contributing and yelling that the government needs to take better care of them!!!  Those of us busting our butts to make our house pmts and pay our taxes will be asked to give more so those who haven't earned it can benefit from our blood, sweat and tears!

And one more thing - For all those people who let a Realtor or bank talk them into buying a 500K house when all they could really afford was a 125K house, they didn't bother to read the closing statements or even ask how much the pmt was or what interest rate they'd be paying . . .  I have no sympathy for them or the lenders!!!   If you aren't smart enough to find out how much your interest rate is for the entire length of the loan & your house pmt too - - then you aren't smart enough to own a house!  Why should my tax money bail you out??!!

OK, that's it for today. . .

Jack, does 'doing well' mean BO accomplishing everything he said he would?  If that's the case, I hope he doesn't do well.  That may not be a politically correct view, but that man scares me.  Pro-abortion?  Gay marriage?  Redistribution of the wealth?

Sorry Richard, I was out of line with that remark. As you pointed out, I guess you can fool most of the people some of the time. I just get tired of people degrading a good man who made hard decisions and then followed through on them without polling to see if it was popular idea.  I just don't understand ANY American can say/think it is wrong to provide freedom to millions of people, any where any time.
The media has made a case for "change" and it has been taken, hook, line and sinker. Change we can believe in, appoint a tax cheat for treasury sec. and retread the Clinton admin for the rest. Make Hillary Sec. of state with no restrictions on the monies Bill is collecting all over the world. I join Don and Buddy in hoping our President does well and is not another Jimmy Carter.

Buddy,  Your President Peanut farmer, Jimmy carter did do something that was rememberable, on this day in 1977 he gave amnesty to the Viet Nam war deserters.
