Comments: John, I looked up the street names-- the once behind Hillvale was Penguin and I think that was where Don Radke lived. Barbara, I am not sure what we all did but we were always out on the street in the evening, maybe on our bikes, maybe not--why was it so much fun? I have such fond memories of our times --and it is almost always summer or early fall, late spring in my mind. Guess winter was so short I don't even remember it! Annette, that was great that you talked about Zumwalt-- of course you won-you are a great story teller!
Comments: If anyone out there is a budding Speilberg, have a movie you want to have considered for the Monaco Charity Film Festival, our dear friend film maker Georges Chamchom is the Artistic Director and would like to see your work. See the attached link-- http://www.monacofilmfestival.org/
Comments: Memo To Barbara Duncan: What "neighborhood" are you referring to? You mentioned Don Radke, which rings a bell. When I lived at 323 W. Brownlee, just across the street was a Radke family. They had a rowdy son named Ronnie who went on to be a SOC '61 grad (two yrs. older than me). Can't recall if they had a much younger son named Don? Ronnie and Donnie? ... it's possible.
Comments: Wow---great to hear good news about Ada Ann's Mamma and Shortcake's Momma, the wonderful updates on Barbara Duncan, and Ada Ann we're all with you in your treatment and love you. All those beautiful names from the past and so many great memories. This morning in my huge Toastmasters Club I was called on for the Table Topics Competition, and the question was "tell us what was great about being 14." I told them how we were on top of the world at Zumwalt, the wonderful people, being able to "kick" with the Lionettes, and the best part of all, being remembered as "Annette the Lionette." I WON! Now everybody knows about the Lionettes!
Comments: What ever happened to Radke...I don't recall his name coming up.
Comments: More from that neighborhood - Gail Barrile, Freddie Arrington, and of course my brother, Bobby Duncan (he & Freddie were class of 65), Don Radke, Susan Gooch (Class of 67)...I'm sure there are more we're forgetting!
Comments: Jack -- thanks for the compliment -- I was scared, too. You guys know the right words to put out there. Ada Ann -- glad your mom is doing better. I'll be praying for you and your treatment. Sounds like everything is laid out.
Comments: and Ronnie McKee and Dennis Bishop and Mary Skwarlo and Arlene Bacon. I am sure we are leaving others out. Oh, Diane Teat and Anne Hopper farther up the road--Many more over behind your house, though. I am so old I cannot even remember the names of the streets there! We did have fun!
Comments: Thanks for the comments about my grandson! His mom and dad both went to Georgia Tech, and the man I work for is a minority owner of the Falcons, so at almost 8 months and 25 pounds, he's already been claimed for college and NFL football careers! Hi back Sandy...yes, we had quite the neighborhood, didn't we? You, me, Sammy Smith, Sally Taylor, Janet Hohertz, Steve Grey, and that's just the class of '66 folks! I've been in Atlanta 25 years now but do get back to Dallas to visit my brother and his family a couple of times a year; maybe it will work out that I can get there for one of your parties.
Comments: Jack, never under estimate modern medicine. There's more than one road to success. (I'm not sure what kind of picture I'm painting here)
Comments: Okay, Dale ... get Von to set the Tivo tonight for 7:00pm - the kickoff episode of "Survivor: Tocantins" filmed in the Brazilian highlands. Get set for an all new cast of scantily clad beauties. I missed the deadline to get my own audition tape submitted, but I'll be first in line for the next season ("Survivor: Midlothian"). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ4Sz8CrOVw&feature=related [sidebar: don't want to be a spoiler, but the "smart money" is on Debra, a rather fetching Principal]
Comments: But Richard a chasity belt would keep modern medicine out of there too. I have to tell you guys, my sweetheart is the BEST. She gave me my Valentines present last night. I'm in charge of the TV remote control through the weekend!!!! WOW
Comments: Jack, from what I understand, the chastity belt isn't needed...I think they're all virgin births provided by modern medicine. As far as the cost to Calif., I don't think it matters...the state can't pay the bills anyway.
Comments: Cheesehead; TRJ is Toni Rogers Jones. Barbara D. Welcome!! Please join us here often and if possible in June at the mini. Linda; all the SOC guys wish you girls had notice that years ago TOO! I think most of us were to stunned or tongue tied to speak around all the beauty. RN any estimates on how much it is going to cost California to raise those 14 kids yet? Any calls for installing a chastity belt on the momma??
Comments: Barbara, your grandson is precious, or should I say handsome. Would love to see you at one of the minis. Have a great day everyone! |
