Oh My!  I turned my PC off Fri at 5:00 & just now logged back in.  Thanks you guys for all the wonderful Anniversary & Valentine's wishes!!   Cupid, what a beautiful poem, you must be working overtime this weekend!

Don & I gave up on celebrating on the 14th, it's too crowded and you can't enjoy a leisurely dinner without everyone waiting for you to get up. We now go out on the 15th and it's so much better.  Yesterday was great, Don did a bunch of things around the house for me while I went shopping at Firewheel!!!  We sat home last night with a few drinks and a movie.  We're about to leave for breakfast and then this evening a nice dinner.  Like  Donnie said, Life is Good!!!  Thanks again for being such great friends & I appreciate each one of you!

I missed telling everyone Happy Valentine's Day yesterday!  Hope it was great.  Happy Anniversary Don and SNL.  Hope ya'll had fun.  They think we are in New Orleans here and everyone is throwing beads at everyone and you cannot drive anywhere it is so crowded so we are just staying at the hotel to eat.  Hopefully most everyone will go home today!

Memo To Linda:

I, too, wondered what JD was referencing when he mentioned not discussing the "P" word.

Dale clarified it for me ... the P-word is "Perkins". Go figure?

Dale- thanks for sharing your student curriculum as an ISD Administer. Wish I was in your ISD. We did not get a TV till the mid 50's. And yes I remember the green film on the screen to make the color of black and white. My favorite show was Roy Rogers and Dale Evens on Sunday afternoons. Now I am older I was wondering (as I seem to do more often as I get older) why Dale was not called Dale Rogers. Maybe they were setting the trend of todays yuts (yuts=youngans) and just living together. Also a biggie was Amos & Andy with the Kingfish always had a scam working. Loved that show.

Sandy and Don -- Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentines Day.

JD -- What is the "P" word?  Also, thanks for the Valentines wishes.  We spend most of the day in McKinney, drove up there to my grandson's basketball game, and saw my other 2 grandkids up there.  They made me cute Valentine cards.  Around 5 pm, we tried to go to Outback Steakhouse in Frisco, but the wait was 65 minutes.  So, we left, drove the tollway down to Frankfort and ate at Mi Cocina (my favorite Mexican food place).  Didn't have to wait there.  Is your area still buried in snow?  I haven't heard a weather report from your way lately?  Hope you are warm.

Well, Sam, your co-worker may have you on a technicality. As I clearly recall, the show was named "Winky Dink and Ewe".

In fact, I still have my Winky Dink TV Kit with the transparent sheet that attaches to the TV screen. These days I mostly use it to draw exaggerated features on the women of Desperate Housewives.

Hey guys, I have a bet going with a lady where I work. Some of you great memory gods back me up.

There was a t.v. show on Saturday's in the early 50's. You sent off for a kit that included a transparency film that fit over the t.v. screen. When the character came on you could interact by drawing on the transparent film.

My bet is the name of the show was "Winky Dink and Me". She says no.

Anyone remember this show?

                   And in Life's noisiest hour,
       There whispers still the ceaseless Love of Thee,
            The heart's Self-solace and soliloquy.

       You mould my Hopes, you fashion me within;
         And to the leading Love-throb in the Heart
         Thro' all my Being, thro' my pulse's beat;
       You lie in all my many Thoughts, like Light,
        Like the fair light of Dawn, or summer Eve
       On rippling Stream, or cloud-reflecting Lake.

     And looking to the Heaven, that bends above you,
      How oft! I bless the Lot that made me love you.

Happy Valentines Day...

You are bringing back memories of our days on Rocky Ridge Road. My backyard had a pretty steep slope. I remember those icy days. One college kid (I can't remember his name, but he lived next door to Janice Hale) who lived on Glen Forest had a sled. He would bring it over to our house and we would take turns sliding down my back yard and down the alley. What fun that was. I can't remember if my brother, Tom, participated in that or not. But, we had a GREAT time. I still miss living on Rocky Ridge.

Sally, Barb D. and Sandy Joe, don't forget that Mike Adkins (sax player in band) also lived on Rocky Ridge. He lived across the street from me.
