Wrong book Sandy Mc, in this case.  I've read the Quaran and that's not in there.

What is does say (another true story), is this (the Quran's writing style is sort of question & answers):  "Is is ok to beat your wife? answer: yes, but not very hard."  I don't recall any verses leading to cutting off the little lady's head. Now I've given Mary Ann a number of excuses to cut off my head, but she ultimately comes around to thinking that's a bit extreme...justified, but extreme.

I think that calls for, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

RN - I heard the same news bite on the way home from work this evening & couldn't believe my ears.

A commentator said something like, why bother to charge him if you can't do better than 2nd degree murder - it's not like he accidentally beheaded his wife.

But, I guess if you lop-off your spouse in the name of dissed pride & deeply held 'religious' beliefs, it's not really premeditated - just customary.

You may want to wear your titanium neck brace to that social event, if you intend to bring up the subject.

Ok JD, I have another news story (true story, according to Lou Dobbs).  It seems an American Muslim who started an organization in the US to help overcome the stereotype Muslim in the US, approached his wife who wanted a divorce and cut off her head....really.  He's been charged with 2nd degree murder (2nd degree?).  Now, I'm attending a Muslim baby shower in a couple of weeks (estimated crowd of about 80 Muslims, me & Mary Ann).  I plan on bringing this up (sort of a heads up...bad joke), and see what kind of reaction I get. I'm unclear on why cutting off the head of one's wife warrants a "2nd" degree murder charge in the US.

....it's a weird, weird world we're in. No opinion here, and no "P" intent.

Alvin/Buddy - I've been carrying Richard Keathley's name on our vets' roster for about 2 yrs, but have only partial info regarding the details of his service - only that he was in the Army, Infantry & served in 'Nam.

If you happen to make contact with his family, I'd appreciate either obtaining contact info for them, or you're welcome to give them my e-mail & tel#.  They may also view our vets' website @: http://www.soc1966military.com/index.html

Buddy, Richard does have a son but have not seen him in about 10 years. Richard was one hell of a football player to bad he thought more about getting married than continue his scholarship at Navaro. The last time I saw Richards son I was taken aback how much he resembled Richard. I will try to get in touch with Richards mom to see if she would like them and get them to Richards son Eric. By the way he played the guitar as good as Richard. Was not into sports.

This morning I awoke with the urge to post something fascinating today. After several minutes of aimless reflection, nothing came to mind.

Alvin Rogers- I have 2 DVD's of the "Wild One" in his prime making life tough on all SOC's opposing Quarterbacks. Richard Keathley in action #82 was very good. If he has a son or daughter it would be my treat to pass on the DVD's to them or family member
