Linda Perkins !  Yes, that was my wife and I and our 4 year old grandson.  I remember now going to the coffee bar, and as I came back around an attractive blonde, sitting beside her husband on one side of the table for four, against the wall, looked familiar.  I think our eyes met, but I really don't recall ( I have had a lot on my mind lately).  How could an old bud from John Neely Bryan NOT say Hi?  We have lived in Kessler Park for 35 years, the same house for 31.  Are you and yours living in the area?  If so, we'll have to meet up on Davis at Llewellyn at the new patio restaurant on their half price night.  We can talk about David Tracy (I actually know where he is).

I almost feel like I fell in the hole.  I am one of those guys who got laid off in this latest round.  I found a job within two weeks, but don't make nearly what I was making.  But, I figured better to be working than drawing unemployment and dragging down my savings.  But the reason I talked about Chips was that I had one of the most hilarious nights I have ever had, with my wife at my side, sitting with Karens sister Jana and her friends.  They had obviously had a few too many to drink and started talking about guys like I HAVE NEVER HEARD LADIES (GIRLS) talk before---but always suspected they did.  They had us rolling on the patio deck !  If Karen can convice her sister to come to the Juneteenth (or was that June 13?) party, we need to buy her a few drinks and get her to tell the tale again.  Love you guys.....

SNL knows more about the Chips gatherings than I do.  However, any time I'm in Dallas and go to Chips, there's usually some SOCite there from almost any class.  Brother Deno tends to court his old buds (and budettes), from school days and generally includes any class or school; SOC, Kimball, Carter, Bishop Dunn in particular.

This Muslim story wasn't the only weird one going on.  I'm tellin' ya' the world is getting nuts: girls cranking out babies 8 at a time; angry husbands killing 9 at a time; fraud at billions of dollars at a time from Texas to New York;  Not to mention weird ol' Southworth.

Happy Birthday JD.

Hey Larry, nice to hear from you again!  We thought you fell in a hole because we haven’t heard from or seen you since our reunion!   In answer to your question about when & who meets at Chips - - They meet the 2nd Thur of every month @ Chips on Lovers Lane just off the Tollway.  But it isn’t any of our grp.  It’s made up mainly of 68 & 69 people from SOC, Kimball & Carter.   A few of the 67ers also go.  And yes, Dennis Nance is the manager of Chips.

We’d love to see you at our 66 & Friends Get-Together on June 13th!!    The invite is on our EVENTS pg!!

Larry Simons -- Were you in Cafe Brazil in the Bishop Arts District a couple of Sundays ago?  I thought that I saw you, but didn't have to nerve to walk up and ask.  We eat there on Sunday often.

Toni, the middle east practice of removing hands, fingers etc. does seem to be an effective crime deterrant. Not only would one not like the discomfort of having their hand removed - also, the act would publicly and permanently mark them for their crimes. The shame factor would be visible to all.

Back in 2004, Houston doctors openly received a group of men from Iraq who had been found guilty of doing business using foreign currency ("dollars") rather than the Iraqi currency of dinars. As punishment, Saddam ordered them to be branded with an "X" on their forehead and to have their right hands cut off so that the public would know them as "criminals".

Here is their moving story:

The practice sounds barbaric, but it definitely lowers the crime rate. I'll bet WalMart would vote for it as a means of reducing the massive wave of shoplifting they deal with.

That should do wonders for his TV station's mission==="Portray a positive image of Moderate Muslims."

To Richard Nance:  Whats this about your brother Dennis holding court with a bunch of old Socites at the restaurant on Thursday nights?  Is it every Thursday night or just once a month?  For all those reading, that is "Chips" on Lovers Lane at the Tollway.  Great burgers and even better SW Chicken Salad.  But what is the scoop?  Is this just for class of '68?

Those folks are just knife-happy if you ask me....if you are caught stealing, your punishment is to have your fingers or hands cut off - depending on the severity of the crime.  I think it's only fair that we treat them the same way...I think that was what you were trying to convey, right Sandy Mc?

Richard, does it say, is it OK for a woman or wife to castrate a man or husband, if he beats her?  Yes?
