Comments: Alvin R., hey guy how ya doing? Did not remember Richard was a cousin. He was a very good athlete period. I watched 4 of our football games this week. Best defensive end I saw. I had to block him in practice every day. He won most of the time. Buddy and I talked yesterday, we are going to get some games for his family to have. As I watched the films, it was strange watching guys that are no longer with us. Great memories, looking in the stands for parents, family. Great support from the students, school, loved every minute of it.
Comments: GEEZ, Some of you guys need to sleep!!! posting around midnight. By that time I would have been a sleep for 4 or 5 hours. But of course I am up at 4:00 am. Have not been able to break the habit my uncle Sam programed me with. Gee thanks Sam!! More info on my cousin Richard. Don't know if you guys knew he was a pretty fair basketball player. His problem was he played the game of round ball a whole lot like football. Usually fouled out within first 10 minutes of game. He and I played alot of church league back then and he was very physical. Don't foul him because the next time you had the ball you would usually wind up on the floor or in the stands. Gosh I miss that guy. He was the first guy I saw pick up a basketball with one hand.
Comments: Rosemary, I hope that you are feeling better and are having a super birthday celebration!
Comments: Sandra, I am here for you and you are in my prayers. I hope that everything is alright.
Comments: I have always felt strongly about intercessory prayer and right now I can't pray, so I am asking you to do so for my family.

Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Rosemary Zapata Cooper, on 2/19! Sure hope you have a great one, Rosemary, & that we’ll see you again at the next mini in June – take care!
Comments: Thanks, Alvin - I'd really like to fill-in Richard K's remaining info, as well as several others we have only partial entries for. I'll send you the vets' roster entries for Richard, in case you're able to speak with his sister. I appreciate your effort!
Comments: If anyone is interested in learning how to hit a "Knock Down " golf shot, I suggest you contact Gary D. (Cold Cash Dagley). He put on a clinic today hitting 5 iron shots on 95 yd. par 3's. He should have worked at Wee St. Andrews, the Females would have flocked to him.
Comments: Don, I have tried a few times to get more information about Richard for you. His mom has never gotten over his death. She still gets very upset when his name is brought up. Richards oldest sister is my best bet but the only time I see her, her mom is with her. Glad you reminded me though. I will put it on my to do list again.
Comments: Larry -- I remember talking to you at the 40th reunion and you telling me that you had lived in Kessler Park for a long time. If you read the GB a few days back, Sandra McMakin and her sister Janice ran into us at Cafe Brazil this past Sunday. We were there a little later than we usually are. Is the new patio restaurant you are talking about Bolsa? We've not eaten there, but I know someone who did and they liked it. Of course, they were there about 5:30 pm, EARLY eating like old folks do, but liked it. We live in Duncanville, used to go to Cafe Brazil off Central and University, but I didn't like the wait and it was always SO crowded. We were excited when our end of town got one. We've see John Wiley Price there, too, but I don't know him or want to know him. Anyway, good to see you. Yes, I looked at you as I thought I knew it was Larry Simons.
Comments: Yep Larry, Jana always comes with Karen & Jimmie! They are planning to attend, so Jana will probably be there. See what you've been missing!! |
