Comments: Annette; a bit doubtful; Dennis & I are the only two left in our family. Now, brother Jack got thrown off of planes on a somewhat regular basis...got a bit frisky after a couple of vodkas....not that he would stop after a couple. Linda, it was All-Clad copper core. It's the "copper-core" that kicks up the price some, but worth it.
Comments: Sandy, Thank you for the personal invitation for the June mini. Unfortunately , it is right in between my mother's birthday in May and my dad's in June so three trips in a month and a half are excessive for me, still a working woman. These sites about Oak cliff are so nice-- I need to think about things that my husband and daughter would want to do for a couple of days there--not counting mall shopping!
Comments: Jack -- You been peeking in my kitchen windows! It is kinda like a horse race, when the bell goes off I'm never quiet sure if it's the microwave telling me its finished, the oven telling me its ready or the fridge telling me the door is open!
Comments: Don said she is a wonder with that microwave. Said when SNL cooks, it is like the starting bell at a horse race or the closing bell on the stock market. By the way, SNL, you don't have to strike a match to light the burners OR the stove any more.
Comments: Linda, I had to go with gas as that's what was there & no reasonably feasible way to run elec to the island. I bought a Wolfe cooktop with 4 burners. 1st time to ever use gas, but I do like it. I have Kitchen Aid elec double oven & microwave. I really like my ovens, they cook so evenly & a ton better than my old one! Good luck Linda, it's hard picking out appliances because so much is riding on it & you know you'll have them forever!
Comments: Richard -- I must've missed the name of the cookware you are talking about. Will you give the name again, please? I haven't eaten at Chips lately, but think it's a great burger, onion ring, milk shake kinda place. They also have beer there, but I like the milk shakes. Enough for 2 people to share. SNL -- What's the stove you bought? We're probably going to need a new one sometime. We're happy with the dishwasher, copied you but not a stainless steel one.
Comments: Richard, I keep seeing this great looking smart guy on TV---the go-to guy for airline safety---and funny thing---he's named Nance! Could he be your brother too???
Comments: So, there's my brother....he contacts everybody but me. Glad to see you're ok Nance. SNL, the cookware is a tad pricey, but the last you'll ever buy and an instant benefit. It's almost never on sale either.
Comments: Geez, two Nances in a row! Dennis - what time do your soirees start? About dinner time? Richard - I love my Wolfe cooktop!! I'm still using my old cookware, but I wrote down the names of those two cookwares you recommend & I've been looking. You do have good taste, albeit expensive!
Comments: Boy, You old guys sure seem to have alot of time on your hands !!! On-line chatting and golf all day ! Just kidding folks, I know you are all very busy! If you do ever get some free time on the second Thursday of each month, the '68 class started a get together at Chip's Hamburgers on Lovers Lane at the Dallas North Tollway in Dallas. It has since turned into a get together for all Oak Cliff Schools and all classes. We had SOC people from '62 to '73 last month and alot from Sunset, Adamson, Carter and Kimball. If you can, stop by sometime during the year. The more the merrier. Dennis Nance '68
Comments: So, SNL, how's that Wolfe working out for you?
Comments: For those of you living far away, here's another good site for seeing Oak Cliff. Go to www.oakcliff.com . You can ignore the ads! Scroll on down the pg to "Yester Cliff" & click there. It will let you see photos of the Bronco Bowl, Sivil's & The Mystics! Hey Sally, Barbara D & Virginia - - Ya'l all come to Dls to visit relatives, so why not arrange your next visit in June & arrange to be here at the Double Tree on Sat June 13th!! We would all love to see you!!! We get a great $79 rate for a room at the Double Tree. See the Events pg for details.
Comments: DWF-I think Pool Guy is still high on Boma from last nite. He is buying all green fees tomorrow. Something about spreading the wealth. He does a lot of talking to himself lately. I sometimes worry about him but a renewed confidence in him when he showed me the quickest way to double my money was to fold it over and put it back in my pocket. You gatta luv the way the boy thinks
Comments: Pool Guy - just in case you don't take the money from Budman, remember your President said last nite your check is in the mail. It should just about cover your green fee.
Comments: RW, assuming you're in Huntington Beach this Spring, let's make sure we connect this time. We're meeting the Litchford's in LA this weekend-plus, so we're always on the lookout for wayward Texans wandering the beaches and back streets of East LA. I expect to have another "spirited" political discussion with Carol Litchford...we'll see if we can get thrown out of a Beverly Hills bar (shouldn't be tough). |
