Comments: Virginia Macon: I hope you can make it to the next mini. It is a nice, more casual venue to visit with one another. I enjoyed seeing you at the last reunion. Wish we had more time to visit. You seem to have the same "sparkling" personality you had in school. I am glad of that. I always enjoyed that in you.
Comments: John, That is a wonderful film. We were there in Oak Cliff in 58, just not in HS. Funny all the girls had curly hair ( like me) but when I got to HS, all the girls had STRAIGHT hair ( not like me) The straight hair has prevailed over the years. And many of the clothes were classic Audrey Hepburn-- so beautiful.

Comments: Sally, For the last few years, I have come down for the State Fair... love it! I really hope to make it to the mini..I will be returning from Florida on th 12th...maybe I'll just keep driving.
Comments: Happy Jack--now that is a plan--I could stay for a month and a half--then I would get to know the place again. Looks like Oak Cliff is on an upswing. James, one of my favorite things to do when my parents lived in Dallas was to come down during the state fair. Once my three sisters and four of the five grandchildren went together--we had a great time. And no mall shopping involved.
Comments: Well Sally, it seems real simple. Come in a few days early for our party and celebrate your Mom's birthday a little late. Then celebrate with us and stay a day or two and celebrate your Dad's birthday a little early. One trip for all three things!! TA-DA!! Mr. Tillery, how come with you having an inside track all these years, we never went to the Duck Inn??
Comments: Sally - I would like to spend a couple of days sight seeing in Dallas, myself. I always enjoyed going to Fair Park for the aquarium, natural history, etc and year round museums out there.
Comments: L.B. Ford (Holmes quebee), playing golf Monday with Cable Guy Fugate and Boxtox Kid Browning. Looking for warm bodies. Donnie has a good short game. Botox throws clubs and wonders why Gloria Lochridge dumped him. Anyone wanna play, call me 214 505-1609.
Comments: The Duck Inn was a place that 2 of my aunts worked for many years. One was the Hostess and the other was a waitress from the early seventies to the mid nineties. An interesting place to eat and really good food. I haven't thought about it for years. These two aunts lived in Lake Dallas for years. You probably were seated and/or served by them if you were a frequenter of that place during that time.
Comments: Speaking of yesteryears LaWanna and I used to love driving up to Lake Lewisville to eat at "The Duck Inn" well I was in that area today and its closed, same old building just vancant. Seems like I remember the bridge over Lake Lewisville being a lot longer too. |
