Comments: Ronney - Very sorry to hear the news of Tyrone's misfortune & the sadness caused by his loss. It's very much like losing a dear member of your family. We know that pain very well, as do others I've read g/b notes from. Only this past year have we adopted 2 dogs & 2 cats to help us cope with the loss of 1 of each, 15 & 10 yrs old respectively, over the past coupla yrs. Altho I was the lone hold-out, I'm glad we finally did so, because there's plenty of pet love leftover to share & we're not getting any younger. Hope you're able to hook-up your little doxie-mix with a new playmate in the near future.
Comments: RN - You're 1 out of 10 recollection , w/9 blurs, was a hoot. But, remember - that item from our 'Elvis Nance' collection is still available, should you decide to come to Big-D & need something to comb on a windy day. I think Ed may have been taunting you by saying he still worries about windy days. While I was attending UTA in '86-88, the comedian Gallagher performed at the campus auditorium. One of the many jokes he told had to do with scolding a lone hair of his that drifted down into his bathroom sink one day: "So, what the #%&! held you in yesterday morning?" Good one.
Comments: JS - Glad we've brightened your day. We're well past the campaigns & elections, so I've put my guns away (out of my belt & back into their hidey-holes). Besides, we're well into 'bailout-mania' now & our 2nd Amendment is under attack! But, the drink offer stands - til then.
Comments: Mr. Arnold...nice to see you post...don't be a stranger...even if Mr. Nance no longer requires a comb.
Comments: Richard- You can see a lot of day light and scalp these days.My biggest fear are windy days and no hair spray. Think a Humphrey razor cut would help ??
Comments: Let me just say that I am surprised and more than honored to have appeared on Don Lincoln's Birthday List. I pretty much consider myself to be just an interloper on this guestbook, and today I almost feel like "family" even though I only met most of you last June. Thank you for making my day so much brighter.
Comments: Ronney, sorry to hear about your doggy. I lost a few puppies in the pool too. John Southworth, Happy Birthday you ole coot ![]() I'll pay Buddy to NOT moon. You know you two could get arrested. Never mind, no body would want either one of you in their squad car.
Comments: Bay Watch Capps, I have been asked if you have interest in cruising Kellers on N.W. Highway and giving a return Moon Shot. I replied for both of us, if their were enough zeros on the check you and I were up for anything. You're still driving em' crazy, big boy. See ya Thursday.....
Comments: I want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes. I have come to the conclusion that 62 feels no diffrent than 60, but 62 most diffently feels diffrent than 32. ![]()
Comments: Sandy, sorry to read of your dad's passing. My prayers are with you. Buddy, that was really funny. I still have that scene in the memory bank. Do I remember a charm for the charm bracelet?
Comments: Ronney -- What a tender heart you have. Those little guys are with us every day and love us no matter what. Be happy and know that he had a good home with you.
Comments: Ronny, I am so very sorry to hear about Tyrone. My husband and I are parents of four-legged children, too. We've had our share of losing our babies and each one is so painful. I'm sure you know how blessed you were to have had him and he was blessed that you and your wife rescued him. My heart goes out to you and your wife and Precious.
Comments: Ronney , you have a wonderfull soul!.......Rick, hope you and your wife had a special day.The pearls..you are the MAN!
Comments: Thanks everyone for the good wishes on my anniversary. I gave my child bride a strand of pearls to replace the ones I gave her on our wedding day 41 yrs ago. She wore them with her wedding dress. They were destroyed in a house fire in 1970.
Comments: Happy Birthday, John Old Man. So nice to know that you are STILL older than the rest of us. ![]() Well, the old pet tragedy syndrome has hit the McKee family again. Yet another Boston Terrier has drowned in my pool. I am beginning to think that Boston Terriers and pools do not mix. Tyrone, the male Boston Terrier that I rescued in 2004, was having a battle with his epileptic seizures on Friday. Connie came home around lunchtime and we decided to run down the street to Sonic. Not thinking about Tyrone, Connie let the pups outside for the few minutes we would be gone. When we returned, Tyrone was on the bottom of the pool. He apparently had a seizure and fell in. I jumped into the pool and got him out. (Funny how the water doesn't feel so cold when it is an emergency.) Connie made me go inside and take a hot shower. I cried like a baby the entire time I was in the shower. Precious, our dachshund mixed breed kept licking Tyrone's face, trying to get him to get up. She watched as we buried him, and stood guard over his grave the remainder of the day. We finally had to force her to come into the house. She mourned over him the rest of the evening. The next day, she tried to dig him up, but finally stopped doing that. She still runs out to his grave and looks at it awhile several times a day. Her devotion to Tyrone really chokes us up. Tyrone was my very special best friend. He followed me everywhere. He was quite the dog. I will always miss him wanting me to play tug-o-war with him and his stuffed fox. (We buried the stuffed fox with him.) And, I will miss seeing him wearing his little brown hoodie sweater when the weather is cold. He loved that sweater. Thanks to Rod Savage, I am feeling much better now. I contacted him pretty quickly and told him what had happened. He has been through the loss of a "special" pet friend before and related his experience with me. It was quite comforting. Thanks, Rod. (Funny how Rod and I didn't know one another very well in school, but have become good friends now through the GB and e-mail.) Sorry to relate a sad story like this, but I just had to get this off my chest. I know many of you have lost beloved pets and know how I am feeling. Now, let's get on to happier subjects!!!!!! Thanks for listening. |
