Buddy,
Yuvonne and I recently bought a ranch between Brownwood and Coleman. It has a lake on it that was 20 acres but with the drowth going on the lake is down about 15 feet and covers about 10-12 acres. The bass and catfish are forced into such a small area that they are easy to catch right now. I sat on a big rock with a white spinner-bait and my 3 year old grandson and caught 22 black bass up to 3 lbs in just under an hour. I would hook'em and Zander would reel em in. Killed a big ferral hog and called up and shot a male coyote on that same trip. The 3 grandsons really had a fun Spring Break.

Rick, yes they stock the pond every so often, but you might want to check with the parks dept.  It is always very crowded when it has just been stocked.

Ronney, sorry to hear about your recent loss of your beloved pet. Years ago, we lost an American Eskimo puppy to a pool drowning. I understand how you feel.

Eddie, so nice of you to decide to join us on the GB. I hope Barbara will convince you to come join all your classmates at the next mini reunion June 13th. Maybe Richard will show up too and you can razz each other about who has the most hair. Back hair doesn't count.

We are down to 2 dogs ( a schipperke and a deaf dalmation, two cockatiel, one parakete.). I lost my minature dachshound about a year ago, had her for ten years and my doberman about nine years ago. 98% of our animals are adopted and believe me not one can be replaced.  Sandy was right when she said they are part of the family. I finally decided to get another wennier dog but the adoption center for dachshounds cost to much for me right now.  About $225 a dog.  now that I turned 62 I am no longer disabled, just retired now or is that just tired.

Well Ed, it's about time you're posting.  You know, I broke out my ol' hot comb one time last year to try it out. By the time I was through it looked like somebody threw a cat on my head...took a week to heal.  The "Humphrey" razor cut...I was more a Roffler razor guy.  Who was the other barber from our class that Deryl went to?....kind of kinky haired guy.

Shovel Dog, you are part of the family. You are the relative that we would lock in the basement, if we had basements in Texas. Since we don't, you get to run "free" until we figure out a replacement. Guess we could send you up to Cheesehead and he could lock you in his basement. No telling what else is locked up down there!!

Ronney, I'm so sorry about the loss of Tyrone.  You're not alone in your grief, anyone who has ever had a beloved pet knows how sad you are feeling.  They become a member of the family & their loss is difficult.  Give lots of attention to your other doggie as he's lonesome too!

I had a kitty for just over 20 years, raised her since she was 6-wks old.   It took 7 yrs before we could think about having another pet.  Then this cute stray kitty appeared at the apartments last year.  We adopted him, or should I say he adopted us, and we brought him with us to the house!  He is the sweetest & most affectionate cat I've ever seen!  He fills our heart with happiness and Don says he is so sweet because he knows how good he has it!!  He lived on the street the 1st year of his life, but now has a home with us.

Don - Was Gallagher the comedian that smashed watermelons?  If he was, we saw him once at the now gone "Starfest."  He was a hoot.
