Congratulations Jerry and Joyce.  You each have one so you don't have to fight over them.  I'm sure they are precious.

Linda, that's kinda like your kids sitting back and saying, I can't believe what just came out of your mouth!

Dale - Then, how about a fish with a smiley face?

(OK, so he's not a black bass - they get caught a lot & have no reason to smile)

Jerry, congrats on the grandones...you've already caught up with us (2).  Although, my younger daughter got engaged over the weekend.  Man, we're gettin' old.

BIG Congrats to Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Joyce! Such Fun!!

Dale, I suspect since you listed the good fishing, hunting, varmints to shoot and rattlesnakes to dispatch, you'll have NO trouble finding people to "look in" on the ranch for you.  In fact, when you show up, you might have to run some of your "friends" off.
I thought you came up with a great name for the place, but can see how Y might not think so. You got to get rid of that Lazy part though. It might attract the wrong kind of people!!

Your grandson looks like he needs a nice big, alive snake to play with. I will have to find him one. I will tell him to "take it to granny's house."

Dale, I've been doing some research on the town of Coleman, prior to accepting your Ranch Foreman job. Coleman (of which your ranch is a major suburb) is a community with lots of history.

Most towns have a carefully thought out "slogan" as illustrated in this Texas Monthly quiz:

http://www.texasmonthly.com/preview/2008-01-01/passfail

It is of interest to note that Coleman's town slogan is:

"Still Waitin' for the Telegraph and Railroad".

Hallelujah, the AT&T techs have come & gone & we're back up & running 3 times as fast.  Pho lines are back up too.  Miracles do happen!!

Jerry my friend CONGRATULATIONS on your twin granddaughters!!   Wow, between us we have a full house . . .  3 queens and 2 kings!!!  4lbs 8 oz is a good weight for twins, they'll be home in no time.  I don't blame you Jerry, seeing them with tubes & looking so frail is not anything you want to remember.  Wait until they are home and snuggled in their parents arms and then get us some good photos!!  It will be a thrill to add new grandones to the photo album!

Congratulations Jerry! How wonderful to be grandparents for the first time and you got the daily double too.  It won't be long before Ada Ann will join you as a first time grandparent and I know she can hardly wait.

JWT - congratulations on the birth of your grand-daughters...be ready as they will steal your heart overnight!!  Linda P., thanks....Brayden was my first granchild....he's 10 going 21...but he's so special to me!

Darn it, Jack, Shortcake is on to me now!  She's called out the militia....you'd think she didn't trust me or something like that!!

BLB, so sorry to hear about John's accident.  I hope he and dad are doing okay!

Dale, I'll vote for John Southworth's name for your new ranch!  Surely, you could (at least) make him the gate-keeper with such a striking name...you know, kinda like a Walmart greeter!

JWT -- Congratulations on the birth of your new granddaughters. Now really begins your fun.  There's nothing like a little person thinking how great you are.  I have 4 grandkids and they are a joy.  I just look at them sometimes in wonder, and amazement of some of the things that come out of their mouths.

Well on Saturday morning at 9:25 Joyce and I officially joined the ranks of Grand parents.  It took us a lot longer than a lot of you, but we are elated to finally have joined you.  My daughter-in-law gave birth to two beautiful girls.  Mother, daughters and even father are all doing fine.  The little ones are in ICU because of a slight breathing problem, but the DRs believe that by today or tomorrow they both should be ready to go.  Each weighed in at 4 lbs 8 oz.  They feel that by the end of the week they will be ready to go home.  Pictures will follow when we can get a clear shot(Right now we can only get pictures through the window and besides they are hooked up o monitors, so Jeff and Lori want to wait until they are out of the ICU to take the official pictures).

Don,
Since there are so many black bass in the lake, we thought about naming the ranch " Dales' Unlimited Mother Bass At Smiley Slough" but Yuvonne didn't like the initials and the cows probably wouldn't live through the branding anyway. Still taking suggestions.

Dale - I think Sandy McM may have come up with a good suggestion for replacing that large 'G' on your ranch gate.  Nothing says Smiley like a gret-big-ol:
