...the farther I go the more I realize that there is really no need to further my standing in this group....as long as you all love me, it really doesn't matter that I'm a Democrat.  Thanks, Richard!  You and I seem to be on the same page regarding President Obama.

To be totally and politically correct...the faux pas which took place yesterday were initiated by HRH Queen Elizabeth.  It appears that Queenie was attempting to show her subjects that she really isn't as stuffy as they believe or anticipate her to be when she put her arm around Michelle Obama....even if it meant she had to call for a member of the royal guard to stand on to look Michelle Obama in the eye.

but, we all still love Toni. I like President Obama, but not the crowd he runs with.  I'm till keeping an open mind on the decisions he's making....results will be a bit further down the line. (Smiley, is it 'further", or farther"?)

RN - You're absolutely right.  I caught a glimpse of the Ted Stevens news article as I was scanning at lunch time today.  But, I had to eat & run w/o getting to read it.  The 'mob' definitely has its DC connection well in place.

I almost hate to listen to the daily news, only to learn more about what the Dems have pulled off overnight, or in our faces for that matter.  It doesn't make me want the Reps back in office anytime soon either, because they're just as bad - just slower & sneakier.  No, I'd like to see a rival 3rd party kick both their butts out & let 'em cool off for a decade or so.

I'm glad you found something encouraging about the business of the President's European visit, because most of what I heard on my ride home was about the 1st Lady's protocol 'gaffe' by touching the Queen - oh, lordy.

The 'Blue Collar Comedy' XM channel is always a much better choice than any of the news stations these days - 'you might be a redneck', 'here's your sign', 'tater salad' & 'git-r-done'!

I noticed there's no outrage from you radical right wingers on this Sen. Ted Stevens deal.  This seems a clear case of Democrats committing the most flagrant of any policial crimes I can think of.  They ran this guy out of office and wrecked his reputation, and then they throw out his conviction after they got the extra Democrat seat in the Senate.

On the positive side, our President showed himself to be a confident and competent world leader on the global stage this week.  I know most of you would agree...at least Sally will, and there's.....Sally, and let's see...oh yeah, Sally.

(just messin' 'round here folks)

Sandy McM - The VA is sending me up to Big-D the last week of this month for training.  It's being held at the HI Express, Plano East.

Seems like I heard something about a guest room special recently, but can't recall the details - was that one your tips?

Please e-mail my home address if you like or click the link above, right - thanks!

Ronney, congrats on the new job and BLB, hope you have another job very soon. JS, Dale doesn't need a ranch foreman. The rattlesnakes will keep most people and/or varmits away.

Linda P: I plan to ask Sears if I can work a couple of nights a week and maybe most weekends. That way I can make money to help pay off debts.

Ronney -- The job offer is great news!  I know that you must be on cloud 9 and rightly so.  Does that mean you won't be selling refrigerators any more?

Dale, I have some more questions regarding the "Ranch Foreman" job opening.

Coleman County is smack in the middle of Commanche territory. Are there still tribes roaming the nearby plains? Are they hostile or friendly? If they are friendly, will I be required to barter with them from time to time?

You've heard the term "Indian Giver". Is that characteristic generic to ALL tribes; or is it more of a "regional" thing? For instance, are the Florida Seminoles more likely to take something back than, say, a Mohegan? Is a Navajo's word and bond greater than an Apache's?

Suppose, as Ranch Foreman, I am approached by a party of Cherokee who offer me two pinto ponies for your squaw. If I accept the offer (just to keep peace on the frontier) there is a very real chance they may come back a week later demanding the return of the horses.

It is potential dilemmas like this that keep me on the fence about accepting employment. That, and the nearness of Sweetwater, the rattlesnake capital of the nation.

This is a GREAT DAY!!!!!  I had an interview in Las Colinas with The Thomas Group, yesterday. This morning I wrote a thank you note to the VP who interviewed me. A few minutes ago, I got a reply back telling me I am welcome. As I read it, the phone rang. It was the company's VP of HR. They offered me the job on a temp-to-hire basis, which is very common these days. They are offering me a salary similar to what I made at Ericsson, which is WONDERFUL.

Keep your fingers crossed that this all works out for me.
