Comments: My earlier posts were a shakey attempt to inquire as to where in New Mexico Ms. Orr/Arrington was vacationing? For some reason I kept hitting the Enter key instead of the Space Bar. [note to self: Cut back on the daily dose of Fletcher's Castoria] SNL, thanks for the info on Joetta Jones (Scarborough?). I'm surprised SHE isn't jumping on the SOC/Storey memorabillia?
Comments: JS - Have you been drinking this mrng? Or, are you just stuttering? ![]() Bobby Jones - I'm so sorry to hear abt your mom's passing. I know how difficult that must be. God Bless & I'll remember you in my prayers. Thank you for the kind offer of some very sought after memorbilia. I will contact you by pvt em.
Comments: Southworth: Bobby Jones had a very pretty sister who graduated in 1964. Her name, if my memory serves me correctly, is Joetta.
Comments: Memo To Ms. Orr-Arrington
Comments: Ms.
Comments: Kathy -- don't rub in the cool weather from NM. Glad, though, you had a good time. We drove to Granbury on the 4th and it was SO hot, I could hardly stand to be outside. There was an arts and crafts fair around the square, but I can say that the heat probably saved me some money, b/c it was like an oven outside. I heard from my Spanish traveler. BTW, Madrid is 7 hours ahead of Duncanville.
Comments: Bobby Jones, do you have an older sibling in the Class of '63?
Comments: BLB--Congratulations on the new grandbaby. He certainly does look happy. And, what a mature look on his face in the photo where he is all wrapped up. I know you are proud of him. He looks like a "keeper" to me. How are you doing jobwise these days? Sure wish you would come to one of our get-togethers.
Comments: Hi, Bobby Jones: I sure hated hearing of your sweet mother's passing. She was such a kind and pretty woman. Seeing your parents at church as a child, I always thought they were such nice couple. What a treasure you must have found. I am sure those items are a collection of your and your sister's school keepsakes. I am sure someone in our class (How about you, SNL?) would love to keep those and display them at our reunions. Why don't you keep an eye on our webpage to see when our next mini-reunion will be. And, then you could bring these items yourself? We welcome all visitors and would love to see you. Wish your sister would come, too. I know that I would love seeing the two of you again. It has been TOO many years since I have seen you and I would love to catch up on your family (immediate and your aunts, uncles, and cousins.....we know they highly populated our church!).
Comments: My mother recently passed away and while going through her house we have found some very interesting items. I have football programs from Boude Storey (Fall of 1960 to Fall 1963) and SOC (Fall 1960 to Fall 1963). I also have two programs to the 1964 SOC Spring Spectacular. and a program from the Adamson vs. Highland Park Regional Championship game on 2/26/1964 which I believe they won and went on to win the State Championship. I also have a couple of Oak Cliff Tribunes with articles about Storey and SOC. I would like to donate all this to whoever is the keeper of the touch. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Bobby Jones Clara Oliver Boude Storey Kimball (1968)
Comments: Linda P...she'll be FINE and probably get more of an education from the travels than the books could ever provide! Spent the 4th in NM and thought of all my friends and family melting under the hot Texas sun. NM was upper 80's day, upper 60's night and a few afternoon showers...then back to reality!
Comments: Congratulations Sam & Sarah on 40 years. And many more. BLB -- Congratulations to you on the birth of your new grandone. We had the 3 youngest of our grandkids at our house last night for Rudy's birthday. They each had flip-flop shaped cookies with icing on the top, and Lauren (3) had purple icing on all her fingers and then she licked it off. Her fingers looked like she had been finger painting. I remember those days. The kids enjoyed their cookies. SNL - Ryan is 24 years old (tall, skinny, blonde, white girl) and is the daughter that taught Spanish in DeSoto for 2 years. I haven't heard from her yet. I asked her big sister last night if she had heard from Ryan, and she hadn't either. Oh, well, in their own time. I think mom usually ranks lower on the totem pole than the boyfriend.
Comments: Sandy McM - Sounds like another opportunity to try using that 'Friends & Family' program at the HI Exp. Double-Tree would have some serious competition with their CC cookies, if you offered homemade peach ice cream. BLB - Major congrats, again, Gramps!
Comments: I can handle anything, except staying up late or getting up early. Good night
Comments: I'd like a butterscotch sundae. Can you handle that? |
