Comments: Bay Watch Capps, you been out of the crib over a week. I did not realize you had a float in the Burning Man Festival. I thought your boat was for fishing. Were those nipple rings for real? You could use one as a ball marker next time we tee it up.
Comments: Linda-My Mother-in-law and sister-in-law was in Marrakesh early summer. This place is not a good place for a women to visit. And a young lady must have an escort. Any lady in pants will be exposed or should I say flashed by the male locals. If she wishes to wear shorts well that is even a bigger problem. Not much respect for women's rights even in the courts. I hope and pray the summer trip will end-up positive and will end in sweet dreams for a life time. Geo, my wife and her sister backed-packed in the 70's one summer there and Europe. I can tell even today it was a big pay-off of adventure.
Comments: This year I've abandoned my dream of Running With The Bulls and am now focusing on getting a group of us together to head to Nevada for the Burning Man event. Not much time to plan, since it runs from Aug. 31 to Sep. 7th. The final night is concluded with a HUGE fire in which the "burning man" effigy is ignited as the crowd goes ape (and puts their clothes back on). This year's theme is "Evolution". Comments: KMD-wish I had know you were at Tuna does Vegas-I was at the hotel across from it at a Fire Dept convention...would have come over to see you....we actually went to see the show on Thursday night. Whole place full of firemen. It was good. You could have come back to the hotel and joined us in the hospitality room after the show. Anyway it was good.
Comments: Linda - Great news! Hopefully she will stay put with the rest of the grp in Madrid & the rest of her stay will be less eventful. I know you're relieved! JD - Congrats on upcoming # 2! How 'bout a current pic of Jacob for the P&J pg!! Rick - If you don't like tuna, stay tuned. I hear the next event will be "Chicken Ranch A La Nevada".  Uh, or maybe I have that confused with Chicken a la King or La Grange, TX? Never mind . . .
Comments: I just found out my daughter is back in Madrid. I feel much better. She should be home b/t August 5-10. I'll be so happy.
Comments: Congrats JD! Jacob may not want to share the pedestal that Grandpa has put him on so be sure to spread the love evenly.  RW, you don't have to like tuna to watch "Tuna Does Vegas" but you do have to like stereotypical Texans and hilarilously dysfunctional families.

Comments: Rick, we did the "soaring" ride when we were at DisneyWorld a few years back. Ain't that great?? Could smell the oranges as we "flew" over the groves and the pines as we soared up the mountains. Could even feel the breezes. We were on the top tier, kinda looking down on the screen. One of my favorites.
Comments: Kathy -- She wanted to take a side trip on a long weekend while over there, and put the request out to all 78 students that she is in summer school with, but only 2 responded that they were interested in going to Marrekech. B/f Ryan left for Spain, she also wanted to go to Istanbul, but I don't think she followed through with that. I hope not.
Comments: Linda, Prayers for your daughter's safe return to Madrid. Why did she leave there with only 2 other people?
Comments: Linda, hopefully your daughter is or will soon be landing safely and out of danger. No doubt her frightening experience has made her wiser and more appreciative of the good ole USA. As Dorothy said, "There's no place like home!" Don, I know that whatever the task you may have given to Jack to do, that he, or a reliable assistant, will doubtlessly carry it out as requested. Toni, I'm proud of you for stepping up and doing something that normally would be out of your comfort zone. I hope that Bruce took pictures and that you will share them with us.
Comments: The truth is, while I was in California I watched Jackson's memorial service on TV. And all the hang gliding was at Disneyland on the interactive hang gliding ride, The seats move as you watch a video. But it was fun with no danger. |
