Comments: I just found out my daughter is back in Madrid. I feel much better. She should be home b/t August 5-10. I'll be so happy.
Comments: Congrats JD! Jacob may not want to share the pedestal that Grandpa has put him on so be sure to spread the love evenly. ![]() RW, you don't have to like tuna to watch "Tuna Does Vegas" but you do have to like stereotypical Texans and hilarilously dysfunctional families.
Comments: congrats to JD for on the new blessing
Comments: KMD from Saxie , Texas, (how fitting). If i don't like Tuna, should I stay away from the theater.
Comments: New grandone due Feb 2010 or so...thank you God for this blessing!
Comments: Rick, we did the "soaring" ride when we were at DisneyWorld a few years back. Ain't that great?? Could smell the oranges as we "flew" over the groves and the pines as we soared up the mountains. Could even feel the breezes. We were on the top tier, kinda looking down on the screen. One of my favorites.
Comments: Kathy -- She wanted to take a side trip on a long weekend while over there, and put the request out to all 78 students that she is in summer school with, but only 2 responded that they were interested in going to Marrekech. B/f Ryan left for Spain, she also wanted to go to Istanbul, but I don't think she followed through with that. I hope not.
Comments: Linda, Prayers for your daughter's safe return to Madrid. Why did she leave there with only 2 other people?
Comments: Linda, hopefully your daughter is or will soon be landing safely and out of danger. No doubt her frightening experience has made her wiser and more appreciative of the good ole USA. As Dorothy said, "There's no place like home!" Don, I know that whatever the task you may have given to Jack to do, that he, or a reliable assistant, will doubtlessly carry it out as requested. ![]() Toni, I'm proud of you for stepping up and doing something that normally would be out of your comfort zone. I hope that Bruce took pictures and that you will share them with us.
Comments: The truth is, while I was in California I watched Jackson's memorial service on TV. And all the hang gliding was at Disneyland on the interactive hang gliding ride, The seats move as you watch a video. But it was fun with no danger.
Comments: Toni, I too did something I didn't think I would ever have the chance to do, While I was in California last week I went Hang gliding over city streets, through mountains and down rivers. I also went to Michael Jackson's memorial service.
Comments: Linda - My heart sank when I read your post! A parents worst nightmare indeed!! When she arrives back in Madrid, will she then get on a plane and head home? Already sent up a prayer for her safe return to the USA & to you. Let us know when she arrives. We got a nice rain for about an hour last night . . . dropped the temps & it's cloudy this mrng!!! Yea!!!!
Comments: Yesterday, I received a phone call from my daughter in Marrekech. She had been there 2 hours and was uncontrollably crying as she was terrified and wanted me to put her on a plane out of there as soon as I possibly could. She is with 2 other people there, but she was chased by a man with snakes across/over his neck and he had monkeys on leashes and she was nearly run over by a car. She is leaving there today at 8:20 am our time (Marrekech is 6 hours ahead of us). Please send prayers up for Ryan and that she can leave there safely and get back to Madrid. Her cell phone won't work there and she failed to contact her credit card about her "moving about" and it was cut-off. She had to use a phone in the hotel to call me as there was not a phone in her hotel room and she said that there were no locks on the doors and this is suppose to be a 5 star hotel. A parent's worst nightmare.
Comments: Marshall Jack - Pls let me know if you're unable to find any paper 'sacks' - I found Kathy's stash of extra large mall shopping bags, equipped w/double handles. If all else fails, you may have to raid a nearby pasture as a last resort for 'ammo'. As hot as it's been, they'd light quick & burn longer. Now, if you'd rather swap targets & make a house-call in The Woodlands, I'll donate Santa's 50-gal. gift bag with draw-string top & heavy duty shoulder straps - your call. ![]()
Comments: just finished 25 pages of catching up, so here goes - Happy belated birthday/anniversary to everyone who celebrated a birthday/anniversary since June 20th (the last time I contributed to GB). Congratulations on all the new grandones - they are so precious! "Keep on keeping on" to each of you dealing with medical issues. My deepest condolences go out to the families who have suffered the loss of loved ones. Sorry we missed Gordy's party. I know it was outstanding as always! We've been in Yuma, AZ for a little R&R. Had a wonderful trip. You all don't know hot but being in the Colorado River did help! I got to experience something I thought I'd never do - I rode a waverunner on the Colorado River! Whoo-hoo! I've really missed you guys - like SNL said, "have I told you lately that I love you guys?" Everyone stay cool....relief is in sight! |
